AB 1 CAUTION The unit must only be used in conjunction with an programmable logical Holz--Her controller (PLC). * 1.1 Characteristic Data Unit denomination: Edge feeder fully automatic Model 1901 MOT Manufacturer Model Serial No. Year Series No. 1.2 Glue in name plate type 131.0801 Schild, Typ 1310801 einkleben Weight Model 1901 MOT Weight 50 kg 1.3 Scope of application This edge feeder may be used on its own or together with other edge bander units, with programmable logical Holz--Her controller (named PLC in the following). 1.4 Operation The purpose of the edge feeder is to hold edging material, either in cut lengths or in coiled form, feed it to the workpiece by means of a transport belt and cut it to length if from a coil. Depending on model, change--over between cut lengths or coiled strip is either by means of the selector keys at the operating panel or the selector switch at the control cabinet. The switch in and out points of the end trimming knife for trimming coiled edging may be changed by way of the PLC. The setting to thickness and height of the edge thickness is effected by motorical setting with PLC. The workpiece is placed on a continuously--driven transport chain with precision--guided coated plastic links, positively pressed on to this by means of non--driven rubberised pressure rollers, or by spring-loaded roller levers with an endless compound belt, to be guided along the edging feed unit. Depending on the machine type, the panel either abuts against the stationary edge or, when the edging transport is synchronised (TRIATHLON range) the panel meets the edging as it is transported at the same speed. 1901 MOT 2 597 640 x 2006/10 x ENGLISH Special Machines 1 -- 1 1 1.5 Technical data 2 597 632 Ind. AB Intended use The edge feeder is intended exclusively to feed edging material, either as strips or in coiled form, to the glue--coated end faces of panel--shaped rectangular workpieces of wood or materials with physical and technological properties similar to wood, such as chipboard, fibreboard, MDF, etc. during the run through the machine. For admissible working dimensions see item 1.7. Any other use or application is considered outside the scope of this definition. The manufacturer cannot accept liability for resultant damage; the user shall bear the risk alone. 1901 MOT 1 -- 2 Special Machines 2 597 640 x 2006/10 x ENGLISH Technical data 2 597 632 Ind. DANGER Residual risks are: Uncovered area between transport chain and raised pressure bridge of the basic machine, as this allows access to the unit tools. Always keep your hand away from running tools! Non--covered lateral opening at the trimming knife in the edge pass area. 1901 MOT 2 597 640 x 2006/10 x ENGLISH Special Machines 2 -- 1 2 Safety Exceeding the limiting pressure for pneumatic hoses. The manufacturer of this machine shall not be liable for risks arising from the use of other agents (such as lubricants or cleaners) or from hooking up the machine to machines or products made by other manufacturers. * 1901 MOT 2 -- 2 Special Machines 2 597 640 x 2006/10 x ENGLISH Design and mode of operation 3.1 3 General description This machine/unit is based on years of practical experience and incorporates the results of extensive studies in research and development. 3.2 Mode of operation The workpiece is placed on a continuously--driven transport chain with precision--guided coated plastic links, positively pressed on to this by means of non--driven rubberised pressure rollers, or by spring--loaded roller levers with an endless compound belt, to be guided along the edge feeder. Waste material of all kinds should be disposed of in an environmentally friendly way and in compliance with local recycling and disposal procedures. * Clean the machine/unit daily. Remove wood chips with a suitable brush or with a saw dust approved extractor system. Remove any wood left inside, particularly in the area of the motor, spindles and guideways.
