THE IDEA IS BORN
The concept behind Tamrac’s
camera carrying systems was conceived
in 1977 by outdoor enthusiasts who loved
nature photography. They, like many amateur and professional
photographers, had a strong need for camera bags that were tough enough
to offer excellent protection,
yet were easy to carry and
allowed fast access to camera equipment to capture spontaneous wildlife pictures. Without a
satisfactory product in the marketplace, the founders of Tamrac, in true California
entrepreneurial spirit, began manufacturing their own camera bags.
They designed these bags specifically for wilderness photography.
California’s diverse geography provided an unparalleled backdrop for the
first adventures of Tamrac into the wild. From the desolate landscapes of
Death Valley to the towering granite peaks of Yosemite, the products
pioneered at Tamrac met the challenges California had to offer. Today,
Tamrac continues to manufacture innovative products based on photographers’ needs and
requests, and to maintain

For over thirty years, we have built our reputation on
legendary quality. Our workmanship and quality are the
combination of excellent sewing and product engineering
that is reinforced with the finest materials, threads, and
findings. We know how to make it right the first time.
Hardware
Tamrac products are engineered with the finest hardware application for each task. We were the first company to use siderelease buckles on camera bags (over 30 years ago). The Easy
Squeeze™ buckles we use today have received world-wide
acclaim. Our larger shoulder bags, packs and rollers also
feature heavy-duty Double Bar “D” Rings that never turn
sideways. Secure metal snap-hooks are used throughout our
Digital Series.
Zippers
We use only high-quality, self-healing nylon coil zippers in all
of our camera bags and packs. In major openings and pockets,
we use ZipClip™ zipper pulls for quick, convenient access.
The inside linings of nearly all our camera bags are of a
smooth, weatherproof, lightweight nylon that does not collect
dust or lint. We use linings that are gray in color to make it
easier to find things in low light.

The Tele Zoom Pack
Tamrac first introduced the Tele Zoom Pack
over 30 years ago just as zoom lenses started to
become popular. The Tele Zoom Pack was
unique because it allowed photographers to
carry a 70 - 210mm lens attached to their camera. Today, every holster pack on the market is
based on this original Tamrac design.

Divider Systems
The patented Lens-Bridge® Divider System,
featured in many of our bags, allows the camera
to sit cradled above the rest of the equipment

The Zuma 4 is a compact, fast-access shoulder bag
for the DSLR photographer carrying a camera body,

A reverse-opening top opens away from the body for
fast access to the main compartment that holds a

The Zuma 7 is a highly mobile, fast-access backpack
for carrying a DSLR, several lenses, a flash, an iPad or
other 10” Netbook, Tamrac’s ZipShot® Mini Tripod
and lots of accessories.
There are three ways to access your photo equipment
using Tamrac’s Triple Access System™. When wearing the pack, just slip off one shoulder strap and
swing it around to your front. Unzip the side door,
pull out your camera with a lens attached and you’re
ready to shoot. To access your gear on the other side
of the pack, zip the side door closed, swing it around
to your other shoulder, and open the other side door.
Pockets inside both side door panels keep items like
memory cards within reach and provide the perfect
place to store a lens cap while shooting.
The third way to access your gear is through the front
door. When the pack is removed, you have access to
all your equipment inside the completely foam-padded
camera compartment. The Zuma 7 will hold a standard DSLR with up to a 61⁄2 " lens attached, extra lenses, and a flash. Inside the front door, a foam-padded
pocket holds an iPad or other 10" screen Netbook.

Tamrac’s Evolution Series backpacks provide an
unprecedented level of versatility. With their
unique harness system, the Evolution Series
backpacks can be carried three ways - as a
backpack or as a sling pack using a single strap
worn over the right shoulder or the left shoulder. There are also three ways to access your
equipment using Tamrac’s Triple Access System™.
When worn as backpacks, the two foampadded shoulder straps, waist belt, and chest strap
distribute the weight. For quick access to equipment, slip off one shoulder
strap, swing the pack around to the front, and open the side door to
access a DSLR with a lens attached. To get to additional equipment,
swing the pack around to the opposite shoulder and open the side door
on the other side of the pack. Inside both side doors are two convenient
memory card pockets and a pocket to store lens caps while shooting.

To convert the Evolution Series backpacks to sling
packs, cross-connect a single shoulder strap, red to
red for carrying on the right shoulder or blue to blue
for carrying on the left shoulder. The other shoulder
strap is easily tucked away. When the packs are
removed, all gear can be accessed through the door
to the main compartment. The internal dividers are
foam-padded and adjustable. A Windowpane-Mesh™
accessory pocket inside the front door is ideal for keeping small accessories visible and organized. The foam-padded top compartments provide
storage for a light jacket, lunch or other photo accessories. A mesh pocket in the back keeps small
accessories separate and secure, while a
Windowpane-Mesh™ pocket on the inside door
panel holds additional small items.

Messenger Bags
These versatile, slim-profile messenger
bags convert from camera bags to
briefcases. Camera gear is protected inside
a foam-padded compartment called the
“shuttle”, which features adjustable, foampadded dividers. Behind the shuttle, a
foam-padded compartment holds a laptop.
The zippered tops open away from the
body for fast access to a camera with lens
attached and other gear. Gear can also be
accessed by unbuckling and lifting the top
flaps. To convert these bags to briefcases,
simply remove the shuttle from the bag
using the handles. The main compartments
can then be filled with files, paperwork, or
other necessary business or personal
items. To convert them back into camera
bags, just slip the shuttles back in. These
bags have front zippered pockets with
paraphernalia pockets to organize accessories, mesh side pockets for a water bottle
or other items, and zippered back pockets
for notepads or magazines. They can be
carried with the carrying handle, adjustable
shoulder strap, or by using the Piggy-Back
Pocket™, which allows them to be slipped
