Introduction
Installing a new floor within two to three
hours, rather than two to three days is now
possible thanks to two ingenious, interlocking,
loose-lay flooring products from Gerflor. The
innovative solutions are keeping Costcutter
retailers open for business as usual whilst
refurbishing their stores.
The Costcutter Supermarkets Group is a retail
expert with more than 1,550 UK convenience
stores. Costcutter provides the independent

Clic System as new solutions for its retailers,
the choice of flooring is now playing a vital role
in the latest shop improvements.

GTI and Creation Clic System simply connect
together using Gerflor’s, unique, patented
system and tap into place without creating dust
or noise or needing adhesive. Both are 6mm
thick, heavy duty, technologically advanced, low
maintenance floorings with a PUR surface
treatment for easy cleaning. They can be
installed over most existing floorings and
bridge the majority of subfloor irregularities
with ease.
Costcutter South Yorkshire
The first Costcutter to use Gerflor’s GTI
flooring system was in South Yorkshire. The
635mm x 635mm PVC tiles, with a 2mm thick
wear layer, anti-static properties and an R10
rated slip resistant surface, were chosen for
the approximately 2,000 sq.ft store where a
ceramic floor could not be laid.
“We had a vinyl tile floor before but it was high
maintenance and hard to polish, we could not
lay ceramic over the subfloor in the shop and
wanted a replacement flooring that would be
low maintenance.” - store owner.
“GTI went in very well, and, by fitting a section
at a time trading was unaffected. We have
chosen a darker colour that only needs simple
mopping to stay looking good. The finished
effect is as good as ceramic but it is easier to
install and simpler to maintain.”

Costcutter Northamptonshire
By opting for Creation Clic System, a
Costcutter retailer in Northamptonshire has
differentiated the off-licence from the food
aisles and created a ‘shop within a shop.’ The
17.6cm wide Creation Clic System planks are
100% waterproof, resistant to leaks and
spillages and available in 12 attractive colours.
“Their use speeded-up the refurbishment work
so much so that customers noticed the turnaround from one day to the next. In the past
we’ve had to clear the store and make the new
floor a ‘no go’ area for 12-24 hours before it
could be walked on.”
