The leaning tower of Teluk Intan is unique due to its
resemblance to the leaning tower of Pisa in Italy. Standing
at 85 feet, the tower features 110 stair steps. Despite being
built in 1885, the 130 year old tower still stands strong at
the heart of Teluk Intan.
Previously used as a reservoir tank to supply water to the
locals, the tower is also equipped with a big clock that
chimes every 15 minutes. The tower appears to lean to
the northern direction due to an overbearing weight of the
water, thus regarding it as the second leaning tower in the
world. While it is no longer used for its original purpose,
the tower now becomes one of the most famous tourist
attractions Teluk Intan.
