PURPOSE 1. Purpose Typical application Converter SaoCal Net allows data transfer between master system (PC computer, PLC controller) which works in LAN network with TCP/IP communication protocol and SaoCal controller devices with RJ-9 serial port. Every client can connect using computer software SaoSoft Terminal or SaoSoft Service with SaoCal controller using IP address and port number set during configuration of SaoCal Net converter. In “Transparent” mode – converter receives character string from LAN network and sends it to RS-485 network and vice versa. Converter is dedicated to work in industrial or laboratory systems, in electric or control cabinets or inside control rooms as standalone device or mounted on DIN rail (version with locking clip). SaoCal Net/122k10/HUSTY/INSTRUKCJA Connection to other part of local networki or Internet 4 2. INSTALLATION 2. 1. Mechanical instalation Version with locking clip allows to install converter on DIN rail. Converter installed on DIN rail 2. 2. Electrical instalation not used Converter has got two sockets, one for connection to LAN network and second one is six positions screw terminal to connect to RS-485 bus and to power supply. That screw terminal is preinstalled and connected to transformer and with RJ-9 plug ready for connection to controller. INSTALLATION 2. 2. 1. Power supply and RS-485 connection SaoCal should be connected 12 V AC/DC e.g. voltage from transformer 230 VAC / 12 VAC. Podłączenie wtyczki zasilanie i RS-485 SaoCal Net/122k10/HUSTY/INSTRUKCJA 2. 2. 2. LAN network connection 6 There are tow cables in the converter kit: UTP twisted pair cable (green) and cross-over (black with red boots). Normally in LAN network UTP cable (green) should be used. Cross-over cable should be used to connect converter with computer directly. 3. SETTINGS and CONFIGURATION 3. 1. First configuration A PC computer has to be used to make proper configuration. It should be done through LAN network using standard Internet Web browser. Normally LAN network configuration causes that converter with default settings is not “visible” in network. During first configuration SaoCal Net converter should be first connected to PC computer using cross-over cable (black with red boots). Computer should have network configuration setup to dynamic host configuration. (Moje miejsce sieciowe ►Właściwości ► Połączenie sieciowe ► Ogólne ► Właściwości ► Ogólne ► Protokół internetowy (TCP/IP) ► Właściwości ► Uzyskaj adres IP automatycznie). For configuration properties it is no need to connect RS-485 bus but power supply has SaoCal Net/122k10/HUSTY/INSTRUKCJA Converter direct connection to PC computer 7 3. SETTINGS and CONFIGURATION Using a Web Browser in address bar converter IP address should be typed in: 1.0.0.1. After that a following configuration screen appears: SaoCal Net/122k10/HUSTY/INSTRUKCJA Then LOGIN should be pressed, following screen appears: User is admin and default password is ‘12345’, 8 3. SETTINGS and CONFIGURATION after that following screen appears: Default password is ‘12345’ and it is necessary to be entered to accept any changes. In “RS-485” tab are serial port settings and the same password have to be used. In “password” tab user can change password and set LED diodes TxD and RxD on and off for test. 9 SaoCal Net/122k10/HUSTY/INSTRUKCJA There are four tabs in menu: “SaoCal”, “ethernet”, “rs485” and “password”. In “ethernet” tab are network settings and 5 characters password. Default settings for LAN network are as follow: IP address: 1.0.0.1 Port: 502 Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 Default gateway: 1.0.0.1 Server DHCP: ON Connection timeout: 60 s 3. SETTINGS and CONFIGURATION During first configuration following parameters should be filled up: IP address, subnet mask, default gateway in accord with network where it will be use. DHCP server should be turned off. In default settings it is turned on for communication between converter and computer during first configuration. Connection Timeout is maximal time without exchange of data with master system and have to be set properly according to user application. Acceding the Connection Timeout causes client connection close. SaoCal Net/122k10/HUSTY/INSTRUKCJA After that SaoCal Net has to be - reconnected using UTP (green) cable to HUB - connect to SaoCal controller using prepared cable with RJ-9 plug, as presented at the page 4. - connnect computer to the net - turn on program SaoCal Soft Terminal or SaoCal Soft Service - take from menu "Datas transmission" – ethernet web - take new IP address SaoCal Net (preprogramed elier in section Ethernet data transmission) That new IP address has to be used while connection between computer and SaoCal need to be established. 10 3. SETTINGS and CONFIGURATION 3.2. Changing the configura- Any change of configuration can be done using PC computer in similar way like for first configuration. But there is no need to connect converter directly to the computer again. If converter is present in LAN network then user is able to start configuration window with Web Browser using converter IP address. 3.3. Restoring default settings Execution 1 In some service cases a need to set up default settings may occur. Especially user has to do it in case when converter network parameters are forgotten. To make parameters reset to default first the converter housing case has to be removed using 4 screws on the bottom. Case remove Next pins 4 and 5 have to connected with a jumper (picture below) followed by power on. TxD and RxD diodes should start blink. Then jumper on pins 4 and 5 should be removed and power should be turned off. Default settings are restored. Short-circuit of other pins or components may permanently destroy converter. Execution 2 small reset hole in housing 1. 2. 3. 4. To make parameters reset to default: Remove green power plug from the converter. Using thin stick press and hold RESET switch inside housing. Using grenn power plug switch on power supply for converter SaoCal Net. Release RESET switch - converter are restored to default setting (see page 9). SaoCal Net/122k10/HUSTY/INSTRUKCJA “Reset” jumper on pines 4 and 5, two peripheral pins on left side. “Reset” contact inside housing. 11 4. LED DIODES Converter has got 5 LED diodes allowing to monitor the converter status: sygnalling power supply sygnalling data recive to RS 485 sygnalling data transmission to RS 485 sygnalling acive connection to LAN network SaoCal Net/122k10/HUSTY/INSTRUKCJA sygnalling data transmission thruogh LAN port 12 5.
