(Polish State Railways) Roads Tram tracks 19.02.2013 Warsaw workshop Warsaw Trams Ltd. 18 Investments Rolling stock and smaller infrastructure investments are included in the financing of the services (and stated by contracts) Larger infrastructure investments done by ZTM, financed directly by the city budget Some investments are co-financed by the EU (both city and operators) 19.02.2013 Warsaw workshop 19 Ticketing 19.02.2013 2001 – introduction of the electronic ticket (Warsaw Card) June, 2004 – introduction of the Warsaw Card as payment method for parking Sept, 2006 – introduction of the intelligent student ID card as e-ticket Sept, 2009 – Short-term tickets on the Warsaw Card (1, 3, 7 and 14 days) Jan, 2010 – Warsaw cards have to be personalized Warsaw workshop 20 Paper-based tickets 19.02.2013 Warsaw workshop 21 Alternative ways of ticketing Vending machines in buses, trams and trains – 2 different types Vending machines at stops and stations Mobile ticketing – 3 providers, need consolidation and development Common ticketing agreements with different railway operators problem with the turnstiles at the stations 19.02.2013 Warsaw workshop 22 3.
