About the band
The Hot House Swing Orchestra is an eight-piece swing and jazz band based in Montreal, Quebec. With a focus on celebrating
the music of the jazz and swing tradition, the group performs regularly in Quebec and Ontario with a repertoire that features
classic standards from the 1930’s and 1940’s big band era. Much-loved swing tunes like “Take The ‘A’ Train”, “Satin Doll”, and
“Bugle Call Rag”, and beautiful melodies like “More Than You Know”, “Moonlight Serenade”, and “I Left My Heart In San
Francisco” are made new once again by exciting arrangements specially written by the musicians in the band.
With two
t saxophones, two trumpets, trombone, piano, bass and drums, the band gets that great “big band” sound with only
eight musicians! Whether for timeless swing music for dancers, bossa nova and latin jazz, or music for listening and ambiance,
the Hot House Swing Orchestra is available for shows, dances, parties, receptions, cocktails, and all manner of special events.
