Wunsch Fills-In As Newsletter Editor Phantom Canyon Ranch — Home to Pure Polish Arabian Stallion Romanek! By Patty Ross Rachel Nicks will be on a personal leave for a few issues. Filling in for her is former CAHC Board of Director and Public Relations Representative, Mary Wunsch! Phantom Canyon Arabians is a very special place. Located in the heart of Colorado we are the home of the exciting bay Pure Polish stallion—Romanek. Patty Ross, owner of Phantom Canyon Arabians, has spent a lifetime developing her philosophy that one “must preserve the past to create the future”. Patty’s Mary has been passionate about animals, horses in particular since she was only 4! While she currently doesn’t own any horses, she and Cynthia Richardson have been Colorado Coordinators for the Black Stallion Literacy Foundation for five years. She has volunteered regularly at Linda Fisher’s Kenlyn Arabians and is providing marketing counsel for The Colorado Therapy Horses run by Dr. Richard McMahon in Greeley. quest to prove her philosophy led her to produce her beloved stallion, Romanek. His sire, Andrzejevo, by the handsome Negatraz - is the sire of multiple National Champion horses and was the perfect sire line. The beautiful and elegant mare Cerrah by Gallup a Champion son of Gdansk and out of a Caracyn daughter was found to complete the quest for the perfect Pure Polish program that Patty was seeking – the magic cross of Bask/Comet – classic beauty, athletic ability and great structure. Romenek represented both the genotype and phenotype that followed true Mary Wunsch greeting one of Kenlyn Arabian’s two-year olds during a recent visit. Jim would love to take him in the direction of a Reining Horse but they all decided he would start as a Hunter Pleasure Horse. He was amazing – qualified for the Region 8 Championship Show where he went on to be named Top 3 Hunter Pleasure Junior Horse! Such an exciting year. to her philosophy of a strong foundation. Patty says that when the bay colt Romanek was born it was no surprise that he looked just as he was bred to look like! Romanek spent his first few years growing up running, playing, rolling in the dirt and enjoying the sunshine like all good boys do!! He thought this was his job in life! Patty took on the Jim Hitt, Gambel Oaks puts Romanek through his paces to win a Regional 8 Top Three in the Hunter Pleasure Jr. Horse class! dle. After many hours and days of work, patience and more work he was beginning to understand there was more to life than running, playing and soaking up the sun!! The transformation was amazing – from a young colt to a well – mannered show horse. Again, all the things that his pedigree dictates!!! Patty would like to thank Jim and Linda Hitt for all their hard work and dedication in the training and care of Romanek. Romanek is home breeding mares and looking forward to being a proud dad in 2014!! He is standing to the public for 2014. Shipped semen available – fresh and frozen. Website: www.phantomcanyonarabians.com/ role of conditioning Romanek and keeping him healthy and happy but as he grew and developed into a handsome young stallion he needed a job. All boys need a job to stay healthy and happy!! He was already a Champion Halter Stallion but Patty decided it was time for him to take the next step into the performance world which is exactly where his pedigree sends him. Patty was fortunate that Jim and Linda Hitt of Gamble Oaks were near and a perfect facility for Romanek to start his career under sad- CAHC September 2013 2 Bolero Bey Beauties!
