GLOBE LIFE
Baseball & Softball
Grant Program
BRINGING BASEBALL TO THE
Community
Part of the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation’s mission is to bring the
game of baseball to kids who need it most. In that spirit, the Foundation
launched the Globe Life Texas Rangers Baseball and Softball Grant Program
to give non-profit organizations across the Texas Rangers five-state territory
funds to continue giving kids an opportunity to play baseball. In 2014, the
Rangers Foundation gave more than $100,000 in grants to organizations
across Texas and Louisiana. Grant applications for 2015 are now available on
/grants. APPLICATIONS ARE DUE JUNE 30, 2015.

The 2015 Texas Rangers Winter Caravan, presented by Academy Sports
+ Outdoors, was a HUGE SUCCESS. More than 25 current and former
players, Rangers executives, broadcasters, and coaches joined the caravan
on several DFW-area stops, and in the surrounding areas of Shreveport,
Tyler, Waco, Austin, San Antonio, Oklahoma, and Wichita Falls.
Coaching those Who Coach
On Sunday, January 25, nearly 300 youth baseball and softball coaches received a full
day of priceless instruction from Rangers Manager Jeff Banister, General Manager
Jon Daniels, and most of the Rangers coaching staff including Tony Beasley, Steve
Buechele, Andy Hawkins, Dave Magadan, Jayce Tingler, and Jose Vazquez. During
lunch, the attendees heard from Rangers alumni Tim Crabtree and Mike Jeffcoat, and
Rangers EVP of Game Entertainment, Chuck Morgan. The whole day was provided to
the coaches at no cost, thanks to the Texas Rangers.
Going to Bat Against
Bullying
The Texas Rangers and first baseman Prince Fielder launched a
new educational program designed to help students promote an
anti-bullying environment. GOING TO BAT AGAINST BULLYING
is available for use in grades 4 through 8 in Texas schools. The
program has been developed by the Texas Rangers Baseball
Foundation in partnership with BKFK and Major League Baseball
Advanced Media. The program, which is aligned to TEKS
standards, will feature anti-bullying tips and ideas from Fielder
along with activities designed to prevent and combat bullying.
