Configuring the Galileo Network Settings and IP Address The IP address for the Galileo is set to DHCP (Dynamic Host Control Protocol) by default. DHCP allows the Galileo, or multiple Galileos, to be easily attached to a computer with minimal setup. In addition, the Galileo can also be set to a static IP address. When using a static IP address, the computer (as well as the router, if you are using one) must be set to the same IP address as the Galileo. NOTE: The network settings and IP address for the Galileo 616 can be configured from its front panel on the System Settings > Network page. To configure the network settings and IP address for the Galileo 408, you must use the Compass control software (see “Configuring the Galileo Network Settings and IP Address” on page 2). The network settings and IP address for the Galileo 616 can also be configured from the Compass control software. 2 GALILEO QUICK START GUIDE Resetting the Galileo to DHCP from the Front Panel If the Galileo has been set to a static IP address, you can easily reset it to DHCP from the front panel.
