AOE implemented a new corporate website for Medimax, the third largest
German electronics retailer, featuring decentralized administration of all
110 Medimax stores. The new portal features a completely searchable SAPintegrated product catalogue and numerous consumer features.
The Challenge
AOE developed a multi-tree concept specifically for the new platform, with a
fallback option to the central portal, administered by Medimax headquarters.
The portal branches into six regions as well as the individual stores. This
enables regional merchandise managers to edit content from the central
portal for their regions, while store managers can edit regional content for
their own locations. When there is no local or regional content, the next
highest page in the hierarchy is shown. The clean structure and well-defined
access management enables easy updates by multiple decentralized content
managers. AOE contracted the agency, neuwaerts (formerly w3design) for the
redesign, while the technical implementation was fully executed by AOE.

The new web portal appeals to users with its contemporary design and simple
navigation. Both the extensive and well-organized product range, the product
comparison, and Medimaxikon make searching sophisticated yet simple. Additionally,
Medimax headquarters can provide all of its locations with an individual site requiring
minimal administrative effort.
