your super tights, plunk on your
mask, don your cape, and get to
retreat lightening fast! No, that doesn’t work. Lets try again.

days in the outback of Iowa, sealed
in with our kind of SUPER people
who quilt and speak our
language. We have a stupendous
chef preparing meals. Leave your
New Year’s resolutions at home.
All you have to do is to sew from
early in the morning until the wee
hours of the night with no
interruptions!

Even better, you will be sharing quarters with a quilt shop that offers a ton of fabric, kits,
books, patterns and every notion you can think of. Heck, they offer notions you don’t even
know about yet. There are so many ideas coming out of that shop you know it has to have a
Super woman in charge! (Shelley Robson, the owner of The Quilted Forest of Forest City
Iowa, aided by her sidekick D’Ann.) Our “Beauty Fairies” are returning again this year. Look
on the Registration Form for instructions for appointments.
I can hardly wait until the great reveal of who we really are in our secret lives.

Class Information
This year all of the patterns used for classes
and information about the retreat will be on
the web site. No more waiting for that
envelope at the beginning of February.! You
will be able to get all of your registration
information within 24 hours of registering if
you register online. Patterns are on the
website at: http://www.tqmproducts.com/
retreats-for-you.aspx. They can be
downloaded anytime. If you register by mail
it may take a couple of days more. We have
truly entered into technology. If you are
having problems getting all of your

Lottery Block
Each year we make blocks for a
Lottery Block Quilt. Each person at
the retreat can make a block and
then enter into the drawing which
is held on that last day of the
retreat. Whoever wins the blocks then will
return next year with a finished project.
These blocks have always been mailed out
early but this year your block pieces and
instructions will be waiting at the retreat for
you. You will make the block sometime during
your stay and enter into the fun. 2 of 7

Registration date deadlines are
becoming increasingly important.
We want to accommodate all of
our guests, but in order to do so
please confirm your reservation as
soon as possible.
Guests staying the full ten days
will have first choice if we receive
your registration by the February
10th, 2015 date.
As you may know, this is a popular
retreat . We want to make sure
everyone has a spot. We will
accept reservations after the
deadline but cannot promise that
there will be openings after the
deadline date. Therefore, if you

Minion #1 Also, known as:
“The Pouch Princess of Mankato”
Wondering the earth performing miracles
making all types of containers. Iron Woman’s
pet, the other Minions consider her a goody
t wo shoes and think the oven’s on but
nothings cooking.
Cathleen Young Minion #2
Suffers from Deficit Instruction Disorder. She
has been known to sew Iron Woman’s cape to
her hips rather than her shoulders causing the
demise of Kim Jon Un’s internet connection.
Rita Nau - Minion #3
#3, is also known as Iron Woman’s lackey. She
is at Iron Woman’s bidding 24 hours a day. In
the words of Shakespeare, “She is a most
notable coward, an infinite and endless liar, an
hourly promise breaker, the owner of no one
good quality”.

I chose this pattern because I thought it was a
great stash burner quilt. It is not difficult,
however, cutting is time consuming. I would
suggest that all the decision making about fabric
choices and cutting be done before the retreat.
3. JEWEL OF THE
NILE
Billie Hansen
This is not a huge quilt, but would be very easy to make larger or
to add borders. I also want to "challenge" those that choose to do this one, to NOT
purchase any fabric. I went through my "little" stash and found
quite enough! It looks super easy, but will require some thought.
4. Tiger on the Table

If you are making the table runner only use 8
fat eights or scraps.

I used Jason Yenter fabric on this quilt
so that the design of the pattern would
show up better than the one on the
pattern cover. The fun part is deciding
which design to use. Cut out your fabric
before retreat and you will be
surprised at how quickly this
quilt goes together.
