ABOUT AJ
Modern day Bungy Jumping was born through
the vision of a young Kiwi and adventure seeker,
AJ Hackett.
Inspired by the concept of vine divers
from the Pentecost Islanders in
Vanuatu, AJ Hackett tested his courage
by first leaping off the Greenhithe Bridge
(19m) in 1986 attached to rubber strands.
After much testing, refinement and
Extreme Jumps, AJ launched Bungy to
the world by leaping off the Eiffel Tower
in 1987 and opening his first commercial
Bungy site in the World in New Zealand
in 1988. Cairns, the first International
purpose built Bungy tower was opened
soon after in 1990.
Now 25 years on, with over 3.5million safe
jumps (and still counting), AJ Hackett
International operates in 6 different
countries, all celebrating the culture
of Bungy and offering many extreme
personal challenges like no other.
AJ Hackett International now operates in
Australia, China, France, Germany, Russia
and in late 2015 are proud to be adding
Singapore into the family as well.

CAIRNS BUNGY
AJ Hackett Cairns Bungy site is Australia’s
One & Only Bungy Tower and has been operating
for over 25 years.
The Cairns Bungy Tower, standing at
50 metres (164ft), is nestled in the World
Heritage Rainforest, overlooking the Great
Barrier Reef and is only a 20 minute drive
North of Cairns CBD.
Our Bungy cords are all made here
onsite by our very own Jump Masters,
ensuring the highest quality cord
standard at all times. Each cord is
checked and logged daily against its
own unique identifier and are ONLY
used for ONE THIRD of their regulated
life! Did you know each cord has a
breaking strain of 2.2 tonne? That’s the
size of a car!
The Cairns Bungy site was built with
visitors in mind, we have purpose built
viewing platforms, the latest tunes
pumping through the site, sun lounges
and a Licensed bar ... So come on out,
have a chat with our crew, sit, relax on a
sunbed and take in the great AJ Hackett
Cairns vibe.

Minimum Jump age is 10yrs old. Minimum Solo Jump Weight is 45kg (if you are between 35kg and 45kg you can jump tandem with a friend or one
of our crew!) There aren’t too many restrictions - we can jump people in wheelchairs, with limited eyesight and many other cases! Just call us for more info.

THE WORLD’S FASTEST JUNGLE SWING!
The Minjin is a multi-person Jungle Swing where you
fall from 45 metres in height down to just 1 metre in
3.5 seconds reaching speeds of up to 120km/h. But don’t
think this is a show ground ride – you have the control.
At the top while laying horizontally you need to pull the
self release to start your Swing! Feeling the presence
of the rainforest around you as you fly, don’t close your
eyes at the bottom, we're taking your action photo!
