Pipe-Style Geometry Cutters
for Pipe and Tube Drilling Applications
High Speed Steel is the standard material used
to manufacture Slugger cutters. Unless otherwise
specified on the order, cutters are packaged as
HSS.
TINI coatings improve tool life by increasing
surface hardness of the tool and providing
greater lubricity. TINI coated cutters are generally used in applications where the material
being cut is difficult to machine, or when
extended tool life is desired. To order, add the
suffix “TN” after part number or set number.
Cutters with pipe-style geometry are
advantageous when drilling holes on curved or
uneven surfaces. When ordering cutters 1-1/4"
and larger, add the suffix “PG” after part number
or set number. (Cutters smaller than this are
manufactured standard with pipe-style
geometry).
Titanium Carbonitride (TICN) Cutters
Cutters for Truck Frame Drilling
TICN coated cutters are practical when drilling
highly abrasive or gummy materials such as
brass and aluminum alloys. To order, add the
suffix “TC” after part number or set number.
M42 Cobalt Steel Cutters
Cobalt cutters are effective when drilling material with inconsistent composition. They are also
valuable when increased feed rates are necessary and extending tool life between sharpenings is desirable. To order, add the suffix “C”
after part number or set number.
Carbide Cutters

ID-style cutters are convenient when drilling
through multiple layers. To order, add the suffix
“ID” after part number or set number.
Carbide tipped cutters are ideal when cutting
materials that are difficult to machine. They are
also designed for drilling at higher RPM rates
when increased hole making production is
desired. To order, refer to part number or set
number listed on pages 15-16.
Truck frames are manufactured to retain
extraordinary strength and durability.
Consequently, frame materials are more
difficult to drill. An effective way to combat
this problem is to use an ID-style cutter that is
also TINI coated. Combined, the resulting
cutter simultaneously permits continuous drilling
through layers while enhancing cutting
performance and extending tool life. To
order, add the suffix “ID TN” after part number
or set number.
Rail Cutters
Specifically designed for rail drilling. It’s unique
design and specially developed coating allow
for faster drilling and longer life, even in the
toughest rail.

Sheet metal slugger cutters
Slugger thin metal cutters are capable of accurately producing holes up to 3" diameter in sheet metal, light tubing, rubber,
fiber materials and select plastics. Designed for use with hand
held drilling equipment, Slugger thin metal cutters drill up to three
times faster than hole saws and have superior tool life.
Centerfree design eliminates deflection and leaves
smooth bore in work pieces. Provided arbor
system quickly installs to most hand drills, accepting full range of cutters. Cutters lock securely into
arbor, replacing inaccurate older style thread-on
tools. Thin metal cutters are available individually
6mm to 3" or in convenient sets. Cutters are ideal
for HVAC, PHCC, electrical and maintenance
contractors.

annular cutting tools. Available in ten standard sizes from 1/2"
to 1-1/16" diameter, these cutters are capable of drilling materials
up to 3/4" thick. Unique cutting edge geometry reduces overall

Achieving Top Performance from Slugger Cutters
1 ∙ Maintain a working knowledge of the material being machined. Different materials
require different feeds, speeds and coolants.
2 ∙ Determine the condition of the machine tool and fixturing. Excessive machine spindle
run out and loose fixturing directly affect performance and cutter life.
3 ∙ Depth of cut can affect tool life. Consideration must be given to proper coolant supply
and sufficient room for chip evacuation.
4 ∙ The desirable finish of the material after the cut is sometimes a consideration. It is possible to change hole finish by adjusting feed and speed rates.
5 ∙ Coolant can be a factor when examining cutter performance. For optimal results,
coolant should be provided to both the inside and outside of Slugger cutters using Jancy
cutting fluid. Consult the Jancy factory at 877.758.4437 if using other brands of
coolant.

Industrial arbors
slugger industrial arbors
Jancy’s industrial arbors quickly and easily adapt Slugger cutters to most types of conventional and CNC machinery. Slugger
arbors and cutters increase the versatility and capacities of most
machines. Industrial arbors have spring loaded slug ejection systems and are offered with optional coolant inducers to provide
proper coolant to the interior of Slugger cutters. Arbors are available with R-8, 1"SS and #2MT – #5MT shank configurations.
Information to know
Keep machine spindle and industrial arbor clean and free of chips and debris.
• Total spindle runout should not exceed .003 inches at arbor bore (Total Indicator Runout).
• Use both set screws to lock down cutter in arbor.
• Supply coolant through arbor when possible. The thicker the material, the more critical coolant supply becomes.
•
Keep coolant inducer from rotating.
Clamp work securely. Do not allow it to shift during cut.
• Know your material for proper surface footage per
minute and inches per revolution.
• Know machine’s type, make, spindle size, horsepower and feed ranges.
• Sharpen cutters. Dull cutters will decrease productivity.
• Pilot can only retract 2" into arbor (on certain
arbors) contact Jancy for instructions for use in materails thicker than 2”.
• Pilot pins eject slug, provide continuous coolant flow to cutting area and align the slugger cutter.

In addition to Slugger cutters being top of the line, our remanufacturing program puts
new life in used cutters. They are reground on the same CNC machines they were
originally manufactured. In contrast, competitive services typically dry grind by hand,
making it nearly impossible to achieve quality and consistency.

Jancy Engineering Inc. proudly introduces the new JB2400 Tube and Pipe Bender. The JB2400’s solid
steel construction is balanced on a set of heavy duty wheels and casters and built around a 110v/25A
(220v/15A) 3HP Baldor motor. These features make this a very durable and mobile machine, suitable for
use almost anywhere. The 35 second cycle time for 180 degree bends makes the JB2400 a highly productive machine. The JB2400 has an auto stop feature which allows for repeatable parts production and
decreased scrap. The JB2400 is capable of producing 180 degree single shot bends, with no ratcheting or
pins required. It’s 2” sch. 40 capacity easily satisfies most job requirements.

Productivity · In most applications, abrasive belt notchers dramatically
increase productivity. Unlike conventional grinding wheels, abrasive belts
are self-sharpening, continuously exposing fresh cutting points. This means
no more dressing or replacing expensive grinding wheels. To accurately
measure productivity, divide [ belt cost plus labor plus overhead ] by [ number of parts
ground ].
Metal Removal · The rate of metal removal is determined by material to be
ground, belt type, belt speed (SFPM) and the amount of pressure applied

Centerless Grinder
Jancy Engineering Inc. proudly introduces the Centerless Grinder. Jancy Centerless grinding and polishing
machines are supplied with a newly developed attachment which can be mounted on most Jancy belt
grinders with a 3”x 78.75” (75mm x 2000mm) belt and with a large grinding surface on top. The centerless
grinding attachment is easy to operate and grinds/polishes all pipes and round tubes from
3/4”- 4”O.D.
Jancy Centerless grinding and polishing machines are unique compared to other centerless grinders on the
market because it remains a belt grinder when mounting the centerless grinding attachment. It is not necessary
to take off the centerless attachment when using the belt grinder for normal grinding operations. Both the
contact wheel and the flat grinding surface on top are available for normal grinding and deburring even with

RADIUSMASTER GRINDING BELTS
50 & 80 Grit belts are ceramic mineral with heavy polyester backing. These belts provide the best value when
grinding metal or wood, and deburring metal. The tough mineral in these belts is without equal with it’s aggressive
cut and long life. Belt backing resists splitting when charged with a heavy, sharp burr.
120 & 180 Grit belts are ceramic medium grits without quite as heavy backing. The mineral in these belts will cut
wood and metal well. These belts are designed to shape and finish as well as removing imperfections.
A30 & A16 Grit belts are belts made to put a keen edge on a knife blade. These belts work much better on
metal than wood. When used for polishing the belts are long lasting and produce a consistent, fine finish.

ROTO-STAR
Looking for a better weld? Roto-Star is a series of precision rotary welding positioners designed to increase weld
productivity and improve weld quality. Standard controls offer smooth forward and reverse movement from 0 to 10
RPM (0 to 8 RPM on Roto-Star III). The work head positions 0º to 90º at 15º increments for increased versatility.
Roto-Star welding positioners are available with three jaw chucks or surface plates.
Features
Foot pedal for hands-free operation, dual grounding system which makes it ideal for aluminum and stainless steel
applications. Heavy-duty construction supports workpieces up to 200lbs. on the ROTO I and 250lbs. on the
ROTO III. They also accommodate any length workpiece up to 1-1/2” Dia. on the ROTO I and 2-1/2" Dia. on
the ROTO III.

HP7525 HYDRAULIC PUNCH
The Jancy Engineering Slugger Punch is a true uni-body design, combining the electric drive motor, the miniaturized hydraulic
pump and the punch head all into a single ergonomic frame. Specially designed punches and dies provide a larger capacity than standard flat tooling can produce with a given tonnage. Although weighing just over 30 pounds, the Jancy Slugger
Punch is the most powerful unit in its class, producing over 17 tons of true hydraulic ram pressure. The compact size and multihandle configuration allow the puncher to be used on the jobsite as easily as in the shop, since only standard 110 volt power
is required. This machine can produce round (up to 13/16”) holes in mild steel up to ¼ inch thick and stainless up to 3/16
inch thick in 2 seconds. It is well suited to replace hand drilling operations in flat stock and light structurals such as angle iron,
channel and H beam. A special feature allows the punch to be stopped mid-stroke and reversed if needed to provide the most
accurate hole position available.

BM20 PORTABLE BEVELER
The BM20 portable beveling machine is designed to bevel any angle between 15º and 60º on plate or pipe. Weighing
only 42 pounds, this unit is ideal for weld prep and finish fabrication work. Its powerful 1-1/2 horsepower, 120 volt
motor easily outperforms more expensive equipment. The unit is fitted with two milling heads, each holding six indexable
inserts, which increase metal removal efficiency and insert life. The BM20 beveler operates at a low noise level.
