Heddington Oaks
Hosts Community
Cookout
Heddington Oaks invites residents, families and our
neighbors for a good ole fashioned Community Cookout on
Wednesday, August 31 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Complimentary
food and drinks will be offered. Come meet our “Celebrity
Grill Masters” from the City of West Peoria and Peoria
County who will be serving up burgers and hot dogs, along
with drinks and traditional summer sides.
“This will be a great end to summer and a nice way to
celebrate our relationship with the West Peoria community,”
says Steve Richter, event coordinator.
In addition to food, there will be fun entertainment for
the whole family to enjoy - including balloon creations from
The Unique Twist and music by the Staker Sisters.
Guided tours will be available for the public to have an
inside peek of Peoria County’s skilled care nursing home.
Tours will run every half hour starting at 5:30 p.m., with the
last tour leaving at 6:30 p.m.
Don’t miss the prize drawings that will happen
throughout the evening activities, made possible with donations from area businesses. We hope to see you there!
For more information, contact Steve Richter at 309-363-3600.

We celebrate residents’ birthdays
with a monthly party, serving cake,
ice cream, and a special gift from
Entre Nous. On the date of each resident’s birthday, the kitchen delivers
an individual cake to their room
along with a card.
Patrick
Sanzotta
Every resident has a special story
and unique life road that brings
them to Heddington Oaks. Meet
Patrick Sanzotta...
Patrick comes to Heddington
Oaks from the Bloomington area,
where he grew up and has lived
most of his life. Patrick worked as
Administrator for Complete Care
Services nursing homes (which
have since been bought out). He
also managed apartments until it
became too difficult to walk.
This past June, Patrick had gastric sleeve surgery. He was initially
at another care center for recovery,
but was not receiving the level of
therapy that he needed. After his
own research, he found Heddington Oaks and transferred.
“The therapy here came highly
recommended,” says Patrick. “I’ve
been really impressed by the service
and aggressive therapy.”
After initial assessments when
Patrick arrived at Heddington
Oaks, therapists Caroline and
Karrie “hit the ground running,”
says Patrick. “They did more for me
in my first week than Kindred did
in a month. The therapy is more
intense, producing results.”
Patrick also has kidney disease,
so he is transported for dialysis
treatment three times a week.
Patrick has one daugher and
one grandson. For fun, he enjoys
spending time with his family and
traveling. He’s looking forward to a
trip to Puta Cana with his girlfriend
this fall.

10:30-12:30 pm in the ice cream
parlor. Come grab a dog for lunch!

The UnityPoint Health-Methodist Proctor Wellmobile returns to
Heddington Oaks on Thursday,
September 29 from 8:00-10:00

to the general public inside our
activity room. No appointment is

More information can be found
online at www.Wellmobile.com.
Heddington Oaks is proud
to employ skilled compassionate
professionals who provide our
residents with the best in health
care. Leading the way is Linda
Curry, who manages our team of
140+ nurses.
Linda originally hails from
the Chicago area, and moved
to Peoria to attend Bradley
University. After attaining her
Nursing degree in 1990, Linda
worked in the ICU at Methodist,
did case management and
discharge planning at St. Francis.
She was also the Director of
Nursing at Lutherson Hillside
before joining Peoria County at
the Bel-Wood facility in 2007.
She moved up quickly from
Unit Coordinator to Assistant
Director of Nursing (2010)
and finally Director of Nursing
(2015). There is no definite date
yet, but retirement is on Linda’s
future calendar.
As Director of Nursing,
Linda’s
duties
include
supervising nursing staff and
overseeing patient care as well as
administrative functions.
“My favorite part of the work
day is being on the floor with my
nurses - seeing if I can help solve a
problem,” says Linda. “We strive
for top-notch service. That is the
expected. We have great care and
wonderful people here, which is
why I love it.”
Linda and Craig, her
husband of 34 years, have four
children
(Sherri,
Rhasaan,
Tiffany and Craig Jr.) and seven
grandchildren. In her free time,
Linda loves to shop and hanging
with her grandkids.
