The main fire works display is done before sunrise on 10th May. face to face, amidst an ocean of humanity, and the silken parasols atop the elephants are changed minute after minute, hue after hue, in quick succession, the peacock feather fans held aloft and the yak tail bunches waved to the tune of the accompanying orchestra, is a scene which no one can witness or emulate anywhere else in the world. Processions of gorgeously caparisoned elephants, enchanting percussion ensembles like Panchavadyam and Pandimelam and a colourful display of dazzling fireworks, are the main features of Thrissur Pooram.
