WARNING
To guard against injury, basic safety precautions should be observed, including the following:
READ ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
BEFORE USE.
DANGER
To avoid possible electric shock, special care should be taken
since water is employed in the use of aquarium equipment. For
each of the following situations, do not attempt to repair yourself: return the appliance to an authorized service facility for service or discard the appliance.
A. If the appliance shows any sign of abnormal noise immediately unplug from the power source.
B. Carefully examine the appliance after installation. It should
not be plugged in if there is water on parts not intended to be
wet.
C. Do not operate any appliance if it has a damaged cord or
plug, or if it is malfunctioning or if it is dropped or damaged in
any manner.
3
D. To avoid the possibility of the ap-
pliance plug or receptacle getting
wet, position aquarium stand and
tank to one side of a wall mounted
receptacle to prevent water from
dripping onto the receptacle or plug.
A “drip loop”, shown in the Figure at
the right should be arranged by the
user for each cord connecting an
aquarium appliance to a receptacle.
The ”drip loop” is that part of the
cord below the level of the receptacle or the connector if an extension
cord is used, to prevent water travel
along the cord and coming in contact with the receptacle. If the plug or
the receptacle do get wet, DON’T
unplug the cord. Disconnect the fuse to the circuit breaker that
supplies power to the appliance. Then unplug and examine for
the presence of water in the receptacle.
E. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by
or near children.
F. To avoid injury, do not contact moving parts or hot parts
such as heaters, reflectors, lamp bulbs, and etc.
G. Always unplug an appliance from the outlet when not in
use, before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning.
Never yank the cord to pull plug from the outlet. Grasp the plug
and pull to disconnect
H. Do not use an appliance for other than intended use. The
use of attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance
manufacturer may cause an unsafe condition.
I. Do not install or store the appliance where it will be exposed
to the weather or to temperatures below freezing.
4
J. Make sure an appliance mounted on a tank is securely in-
stalled before operating it.
K. Read and observe all the important notices on the appliance.
L. This Appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than
the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.
Never use with an extension cord unless plug can be fully inserted. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
M. If an extension cord is necessary, a cord with a proper rating
should be used. A cord rated for less amperes or watts than the
appliance rating may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that it will not be tripped over or pulled.
CLEANING
It is important to keep this appliance clean. Always unplug the
appliance before performing maintenance or cleaning of the
exterior of this pump. Wipe exposed surfaces carefully with a
damp terrycloth to remove any dust or mineral deposits which
may collect over time. Make sure hands are completely dry before re-plugging into an electrical outlet.
SERVICING
In order to assure proper electrical connections and polarity,
replacement parts and servicing should be performed only by a
qualified electrician.
OPERATION
Please carefully read the entire “Owner’s Manual” for proper
operation procedures before proceeding with turning on this
appliance and adding livestock such as fish, corals, and invertebrates.

The Ultimate HQI Clamp on Lamp
Thank you for purchasing the most comprehensive HQI Clamp
on Lamp in the industry. The K-2 Viper Deluxe incorporates intense HQI metal halide light ouput for daytime viewing, along
with (2) integrated Nite Vu LED moonlighting for after hours
viewing. All models are equipped with a directional fan motor
assembly to cool off the light fixture as well as the surface of the
water with a convenient 2 speed fan control integrated at the
remote ballast.
Replicating Mother Nature with Versalitlity
There is nothing more intense or spectacular than the vibrant
rays the sun can produce. But, we sure came close to emulating
the power of the sun enclosed in a compact design for the next
best thing. The K-2 Viper Deluxe is guaranteed to instantly transform aquariums with fluorescent lighting into showroom display tanks with rhythmic shimmering throughout the tank and
intensified light output for SPS, CLAMS, and LPS corals.
The K-2 Viper Deluxe will virtually fit on any size aquarium. Our
unique design allows you to angle the light right where you
need it most. With 3 separate adjustment knobs you can configure the way you deem most fitting for your live inhabitants’
lighting needs.
The high velocity fan motor easily cools off the fixture and puts
you in control with 2 speed settings that can be set from 105163 CFM.
The Nite Vu LED’s are integrated under the height adjustment
arm which adds a beautiful nite-time blue shimmer.

Power of the Sun
The K-2 Viper Deluxe Clamp on Lamp fixture is the instant solution for hobbyists who demand high intensity power in a compact exterior housing.
Double Ended HQI metal halide fixtures produce a tremendous
amount of light output for demanding corals and cast beautiful
sparkling rays on the bottom floor of your substrate.
We offer the fixtures in a 150 watt and 250 watt version to
adapt to almost any possible aquarium set up imaginable.
It is recommended to use 1 fixture for every 2 feet of length of
aquarium.
The 150 watt version is adequate for aquariums up to 18” in
depth, while the 250 watt version is recommended for tanks
18” - 30” in depth.
Keeping you Cool in the Sun
All K-2 Viper Deluxe fixtures are
equipped with a high velocity fan with 2
speed fan control located and the face
of the remote ballast.
The fan has a CFM rating of (L)105 – (H)
163 to exhaust heat from the fixture and
the aquarium. The switch is labeled “L” and “H” to the corresponding flow rates. You can also turn off the fan by leaving the
switch in the middle position.
Toggle the switch up for low setting
Toggle the switch in the middle for off
Toggle the switch down for high setting

Illuminating Nocturnal Behaviors
Our newest innovation to the K-2 Viper series are our (2) Nite
Vu LED moonlights integrated into the cool running portion of
the extension arm.
These discreetly placed blue LEDs consume less than 1 watt of
power, but are still strong enough to illuminate nocturnal behaviors.
Nite Vu LED’s allow you to
view all the activities that occur after the HQI (daytime)
lamp is turned off without
disturbing any of your live
inhabitants as they rest.
All models include individual
power cord for LEDs.
Hammertone Reflector
All models are equipped with our new and improved larger
hammertone reflector to cast 98% of the usable light back into
the aquarium.
HQI ballast is UL recognized and delivers
consistent performance day after day
while conveniently stored in your cabinet.
New and improved UL recognized lamp
socket holders have been installed for secure placement of the lamps while making lamp changes a snap.

Using on a Timer
Many hobbyist prefer to automate their lighting cycles by plugging their lighting systems into timers. You can easily automate
the control of the fans and the HQI lighting by plugging the
120V plug from the HQI ballast into an analog timer.
The LED transformer may be plugged directly into a 120v wall
outlet and does not need to be plugged into a timer. The LEDs
consume less than 1 watt of energy.
Once plugged into a timer, the fan speed and HQI lamp will
turn on/off based on the cycle period of the timer setting.
We recommend providing a photoperiod between 6-8 hours
of daylight for most coral and invertebrates.

CAUTION: Always unplug before performing any maintenance.
NEVER use soap, detergents, or any non-recommended cleaning agents around an aquarium.
ALWAYS caution when handling the head of fixture
Changing the Lamp
Metal Halide lamps should be
replaced out every 9-12
months to retain its’ natural
color rendition and intensity.
Old lamps may cause undesirable nuisance algae and impact the health of corals and
invertebrates that require the
correct lumens and Kelvin for
survival.
Step 1: Unplug the main
power cord from the wall outlet and turn off the switch to the
HQI ballast. Allow the fixture to cool for an hour or until the
head of the fixture is at a cool temperature.
Step 2: Disconnect the cables from the HQI ballast and LED ballast
Step 3: Remove the fixture from the tank and place the fixture
upside on the head so that the lamp faces you.
Step 4: Unscrew the 4 screw located at the four corners of the
light head. Remove the lamp and replace.
