The RMEF has enhanced more than 391,000 acres of elk habitat and opened over
72,000 acres to public access in Colorado. The RMEF works to protect crucial elk
habitat through voluntary conservation easements – with 76 easements here — more

Big Game Banquet and Fundraiser! Festivities will be held
at The Plaza at the Denver Merchandise Mart on Saturday,
March 23, 2013 - with doors opening at 4:30pm.
than any other state! For example, the Wolf Mountain Ranch, a working cattle
operation northwest of Steamboat Springs, completed a conservation easement in
2012, protecting more than 8,600 acres. This will secure critical calving grounds for the
Bears Ears elk herd — one of the world’s most productive — and a key winter migration
corridor for elk of the Mount Zirkel Wilderness and surrounding Routt National Forest.
This year's banquet will prove to be our biggest and best ever – one you'll not want to miss! You can participate in the
General Raffle, Silent Auction, the always-exciting Live Auction, and visit with guest exhibitors. Throughout the
evening, we'll host a variety of raffles and games to take home amazing items. The ever-popular Gun Board will be
packed with top-shelf firearms; raffle items include dream hunts / fishing trips, beautiful home accents and
merchandise for everyone! As one of the country’s top RMEF fundraising chapters, we’ll be offering some very
special items this year, including:
> Les Schwab Country Raffle for a Howa Hunter Stainless .300 Win Mag with case. The winner at each
RMEF banquet will then be entered into a drawing for a 6-day trophy bull elk hunt in Utah for the Fall of
2014 (valued at over $15,000).

And let's not forget future RMEF supporters – we educate and encourage young people to become involved in
conservation and hunting traditions. Kids (ages 16 and under) can enjoy the 1 Shot Gear Youth Program, the BB

gun range and an opportunity to receive their own air rifle. And returning youth (who bring their Hunter Education
cards with them to the banquet) will be eligible for a drawing for a big game rifle! We’re offering a special $15 Youth
Meal, so bring the entire family.
If you’re thinking of bringing a group and want to sit together, our Friends and Family setting for eight (must
consist of four RMEF members) offers incentives that include $100 each of raffle and gun board tickets. And this
year we’re very proud to announce the addition of privately-sponsored Military tables, including one specifically
reserved for several distinguished Wounded Warrior guests.

Local banquets provide the majority of Elk Foundation conservation monies, which the RMEF is able to leverage by
a lofty 9-to-1 ratio through matching partner funds. For every $239 net dollars raised, we will positively affect one
acre of land. Attend the Denver Mile High Chapter's Banquet and help us achieve our goal that night – to enhance
and conserve 482 acres of wildlife habitat!

Colorado Benefits! Membership in the RMEF stands at an all-time high of 196,079. This new total is 11,944 higher
than the end of 2011 and marks the fourth consecutive year of record growth. Colorado is home to 13,848 members.
The RMEF has protected or enhanced habitat on more than 6.2 million acres – including more than 402,461 in
Colorado. RMEF and its partners have funded over 572 projects with a value of over $147 million here in our State.
We host local conservation education and hunting programs, and partner with the US Forest Service and Colorado
Parks and Wildlife for numerous projects each year.
