Workshops: Stability for Success TM in Movement, Learning and Life! Who Should Attend Educators Parents • Occupational Therapists • Physical Therapists • Speech Therapists • Developmental Therapists • Psych/LCSW • Massage Therapists • Fitness Professionals • • overview Proper posture, correct alignment and muscle function are well known as ingredients of good balance and pain-free movement. Underlying all posture and move- ment is a set of Intrinsic Stabilizing Sequences™. Ranges of optimal stability are also the ranges where an individual can function optimally—positions of success! The four levels of workshops cover all aspects of Intrinsic Stabilizing Sequences beginning with understanding and assessing, application of these insights to our lives, and enabling improvements with the Kinetic Bridging technique. Details of each course and registration information can be found at www.KineticKonnections.com/ workshops. 1 This introductory level course is designed for individuals and professionals of all levels. This interactive workshop will introduce the participants to the world of Intrinsic Stabilizing Sequences™ and how they relate to movement, motor control, motor planning, injury modes, and accommodative strategies. Case studies will be used to understand application of the results to guide success in development, academic, athletic performance, and to minimize repetitive stress patterns. Parents and educators can gain insights behind children’s behavior and learning styles. Course Objectives Participants will learn: • T he ten primary attributes of Intrinsic Stabilizing Sequences™ and their relevance • A ssessment of intrinsic stability related to postural sway control including the role of vision upon stability • A pplication of postural sway stability assessments to client profiles Format and Method of Instruction The Stability for Success course is 1/3 lecture, 1/3 demonstration and hands-on practice, and 1/3 case-study discussion. Each portion will include time for measurement of learning objectives. course TimeCapacityRegistration Early Registration DatesDeadline ($160)Deadline ($140) 09/28/13 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. 6 min/15 max 09/26/13 09/20/13 10/26/13 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. 6 min/15 max 10/24/13 10/18/13 01/18/14 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. 6 min/15 max 01/16/14 01/10/14 03/01/14 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. 6 min/15 max 02/27/14 02/21/14 Same day registration is $25 additional, provided space is available. Course schedule and outline course instructor Cara Lindell Founder of Kinetic Konnections® and Kinetic Bridging® During the past decade Cara developed the Kinetic Bridging® technique as a way to quickly reset Intrinsic Stabilizing Sequences™. In her work with hundreds of clients of every age and ability, she recognized stability improvements led to improvements in posture, movement, flexibility and balance as well as reductions in pain. A stable foundation of physical function also promotes more efficient sensory processing and cognitive skills. Cara is a certified Personal Trainer and Advanced Heath and Fitness Specialist with the American Council on Exercise (ACE). She holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a Masters in Engineering Management from Northwestern University. She is a recognized speaker as an expert on various fitness related topics including balance, strength and health. She is currently a member of the IDEA national fitness organization, National Association of Women’s Business Owners (NAWBO-Chicago), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS).
