WELCOME

PARK CITY
Dear Guests,
Welcome to the 44th Annual Park City Kimball Arts Festival,
presented by KSL 5 benefiting the Kimball Art Center!
I’d like to take the opportunity to welcome you to Park City for Kimball Art Center’s biggest
fundraiser of the year. Every admission ticket sold enables us to provide year-round exhibitions,
educational outreach to schools, Art Talks, and guided tours FREE of charge. Furthermore, the
Kimball Art Center can benefit the larger community through year long art education programs.
Stroll around and take in work by artists from over 30 states and Canada, live music, art
demonstrations and food provided by local culinary favorites. Your support helps us to achieve
our goal of engaging our community and its visitors through visual art education, exhibitions,
and special events.

SRAM pART PROJECT PARK CITY
July 26th – August 25th, Badami Gallery
Cycling and art — two things that define Park City, Utah.
It’s a perfect combination. Another great pairing — World
Bicycle Relief and the Kimball Art Center. Two organizations
have teamed up to raise funds for global aid and local
art experiences. The SRAM pART PROJECT/Park City will
help provide funding to keep the Kimball Art Center’s world
class art programming free and bicycles to Third World
communities to aid in their development. It makes perfect
sense, think globally, act locally. Join us, see how 25
recognized U.S. artists have taken a box of 100 identical
SRAM cycle components to create works of art. The SRAM
pART PROJECT/Park City gallery exhibition opens on July 26.
The sculptures will be available to buy at auction on ebay
August 6 through August 12.

RELEVANT 2013 SHOW
August 2nd – September 1st, Main Gallery
The Kimball Art Center’s Relevant Artist-in-Residence program brings together a select group of talented
undergraduate and graduate level art students from across the country. During the week long residence, student
artists are mentored by nationally acclaimed professional artists, attend workshops and round table discussions,
and create an original work of art for the Kimball’s annual RELEVANT SHOW. The RELEVANT 2013 SHOW will feature
a diverse array of artwork by this year’s resident and mentor artists as well as past alums.
Presented by:
Clive & Pat Adcock
Lisa & Mike Herring
Additional support provided by:
George S. & Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation, Mr. & Mrs. Michael Morris,
PC Foundation, Summit County Rap Tax and Utah Division of Arts & Museums
THE SIMPLE LIFE: PHOTOGRAPHS BY JAMES WINEGAR
August 2nd – Sept 8th, Garage Gallery
The Simple Life is a stunning series of photographs
exploring the majestic beauty and the tranquil spirit
of the horse. Photographed by a cowboy who is
naturally drawn to their beauty, these pictures exude
the sense of calm and serenity that he feels in the
presence of horses. James Winegar is a California
native, a graduate of the photography program at
BYU and currently resides in Utah.

UTAH ARTISAN TASTING
kimball
PARK CITY
With the slow food and farm to table movements gaining in
popularity, the Kimball Art Center is bringing back the Utah
Artisan Tasting area to the Arts Festival. This area will feature
six Utah hand-crafted food producers, who diligently source
their raw materials and create high quality, award-winning
products. Come to the Festival and check out the Utah Artisan
Tasting area at the top of Main Street to sample their specialties.
Hand crafted local artisan jams & marmalades
in Salt Lake City. Every one of their delicious
preserves is made from seasonal, fresh fruit.
Amour Spreads was recently picked as City
Weekly’s 2013 Best of Utah ‘Best Artisan Jam’.
www.amourspreads.com
We are life’s enthusiasts and we believe that
life should be celebrated at every moment
possible. We make organic non-gmo chips, and
salsa that reflect exactly that. A snack that is
always at the center of what we love most,
socializing! Being around others and sharing
a laugh is what makes life grand. You’re an
extremist, a life extremist, so whether it’s our
products or any other products, choose what
reflects your lifestyle, because mediocrity is
not an option. www.buffalogourmet.com
Today, we are all grown up and crave more
adventurous flavors. We started to play around
in the kitchen and we quickly realized that
popcorn is the perfect canvas to infuse with
fun, out-of-the-box ingredients. This is where
the idea of Pop Art came from.

Artisan breads locally produced with local
hands using locally sourced ingredients. Here
is what we are currently baking: Italian style
baguette with olive oil and sea salt, bouille
with roasted yam and molasses, potato and
olive oil foccacia with fresh herbs, citrus
and herbs de provence, Wasatch beer bread,
chocolate chipotle, and everything bread.

Snowy Mountain Sheep Farm was created
from the dreams of delicate, delightful, udderly
delicious artisan sheep cheeses. We are located
in a pristine Rocky Mountain Valley of Eden,
Utah, which is noted for its downhill ski resorts,
lake fishing, hiking, biking, and its focus on
retaining the beauty of the natural environment.

we do not use any artificial colors, flavors, or

MUSCLE SHOALS
Town Lift Plaza

In a tiny Alabama town with
the curious name of Muscle
Shoals, something miraculous
2013 PARK CITY KIMBALL ARTS FESTIVAL
sprang from the mud of the Tennessee
River. A group of unassuming, yet incredibly
talented, locals came together and spawned
some of the greatest music of all time. At
the heart of the story is Rick Hall; overcoming
crushing hardship, he managed to entice
talent like Aretha Franklin and Wilson
Pickett to come and record what became
their hit albums. As the word spread about
the electrifying musical chemistry in this
unexpected place, the likes of Bob Dylan,
the Rolling Stones, the Staples Singers, the
Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and
Simon and Garfunkel magnetically followed
suit. Interviewing an incredible roster of
musicians, director Greg Camalier unearths
a rich history of this unheralded gold mine
of American music.

Carlos Rosales-Silva is a contemporary
artist from Austin, Texas. His paintings
photos, sculptures and drawings
investigate themes of borders, diversity
and identity. Amplified tales of cowboys
and Indians, pop cultural stereotypes of
Mexicans, oral family history and personal
experience all funnel into Rosales-Silva’s
work which he revises, alters, critiques and
explores.
Visit the UMOCA truck and explore at the
top of Main Street during the entire
festival.
Sunday August 4th- 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Soul Poles will be showing their hand made process from
start to finish as well as displaying their laser engraver to
show how they can customize each pair.
Each and every Soul Pole is handcrafted in Park City, Utah
using the most eco-friendly materials possible and is
carefully guided through every step of the manufacturing
process to ensure only the highest qualitypoles make it to
you. In doing this, we can help to reduce waste (by not
having to replace your poles), initiate a sustainable
movement within the ever-consuming ski industry, and
provide you with not only afunctional ski pole, but a piece of
art as well, whether it is the Original Soul, or the Limited
Edition created by artist R. Nelson Parrish.
