LUBBOCK SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA PRESENTS: BEETHOVEN
The first of two exceptional classical composers featured in this robustly
beautiful program, Beethoven’s Overture to Prometheus, Op. 43 depicts
the great composer’s version of the Greek figure and his interaction with
humans on earth through contrasting somber and energetic sounds.
Copeland’s Appalachian Spring Suite is one of the most beloved and iconic
selections in the classical music repertoire due to its gorgeous storytelling
of a pioneering couple’s wedding. Finally, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 was

Lubbock Animal Services
PET ADOPTION PROGRAM
At Lubbock Animal Services (LAS), it is our wish that every companion animal be placed in a loving, caring home. LAS works
hard to ensure that an appropriate match is made to ensure an animal meets its new family’s lifestyle. As part of our adoption
program, we require a potential owner to complete an adoption application and interview with our adoption counselor. During
the interview, potential owners are educated on the proper care of the new pet, common problems that may arise, and what
responsibilities they have as a pet owner. The cost of adopting an animal is $60 and includes the first set of shots (parvo,
distemper, bordatella), as well as rabies vaccination and licensing. Also included in the cost is the implantation of a microchip
and the spay/neuter of the animal (covers all cost for most local veterinarians).
Volunteers of the City of Lubbock Animal Services offer off-site adoptions of dogs and cats at PetsMart, located in the Canyon
West Shopping Center, on most Saturdays from 10 AM to 5 PM.
SPAY/NEUTER VOUCHERS
You love your pet and so do we! Did you know the City of Lubbock Animal Services has a program to assist some residents
(based on a sliding income scale) with spay/neuter costs? If you or someone you know is interested in information on spay/
neuter vouchers, please call Animal Services at (806) 775-2058.
