Activity Days th Wednesday 18 to Thursday 19th July 2012 Dear Parents / Carers We are organising another exciting programme of activities in the final week of the summer term. On Wednesday 18th July and Thursday 19th July all students will be off timetable. The aim is for all students to engage in a range of enjoyable and challenging activities that they may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience as part of the normal curriculum. All students are expected to take part in 2 days worth of activities. Any absence from school during these 2 days will be considered unauthorised. Please find details of all of the activities available this year in this booklet. We will endeavour to ensure that students are allocated their first choice activity;; however students do need to make reserve choices in case their first preference is not available. Students now need to select the activities they wish to participate in and complete the form and return it to the office by Monday 23rd April. Please note that places are limited on some activities and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Forms should be returned to the front office. Please encourage your child to consider his/her choices carefully as it may not be possible to make changes later. If students require further information they should contact the lead teacher as indicated on the activity list. There is no need to return a form if your child has been selected to do West Side Story, the Rome trip, ASDAN teambuilding or the DoE expedition;; these are already full. There is no need to pay any money at the current time, as you will be invoiced later for the full amount. However parents do need to sign the selection form to confirm that they are happy with the charges and are able to pay them when requested. I regret to inform you that step-up funding is no longer available, however, we do have a range of low cost and free activities. Please can I remind all parents that the Activity Days are a compulsory part of the school year and that full student attendance is expected. ,KRSHWKDW\RXZLOOVXSSRUWWKLV\HDU¶V$FWLYLWLHV:HHNDQGWKDWVWXGHQWVZLOOILQGLWDQHQMR\ able and worthwhile experience.
