Heart wishes out to all of You!
Luv our Members!
It’s March so let’s hop into painting, I’m
feeling silly, ready for Spring!
Char Ellis has been working on a few
seminar projects for us. Please help her
out by volunteering your help.
We need some more teachers to do our
paint in’s before our meetings!
Join us in April for the Snow Owl class
and Halloween Magic classes. We are
trying to do it in one day and not stress
everyone out! We will make it happen.
We are excited about attending the
Michigan Mixer! Next year it will be
Valley as your Host so we are already
making plans!
Spring is on it’s way, keep painting !
have fun! Your Pres. Wendy
Sign up for the Michigan Mixer and check out
our upcoming seminars and paint events. Try

March 12th Paint In
Leaf Embossing with Linda S.
We will have two different projects to do before the
March Mtg. This was postponed from the Nov Mtg. We
will have to make some adjustments due to the snow
covering any possible leaf collection! We will be using a
silk leaf and embossing it as a framed photo. Second
will be create Linda’s rolls she served at one of our mtgs.
It’s a cross between a sconce and a roll, with lots of
herbs. They were a hit!
For the leaf project, We have to make some adjustments.
If you by chance still have a leaf you planned on using then, if it’s still pliable
and won’t break down, you may use that. Otherwise Linda will have some
available for your use that day.
Linda will bring the supplies needed for us. No need for brushes this time!
For the bread we will need to work together as a pair then split the #. We
should have 8 when done and able to take home. We can work that out there.
If as many members could bring along, 2 bowls to use : One very large bowl to
mix, a med glass bowl (3 c) for the Micro to melt, pan to put the rolls in to
bake or container to take home unbaked dough. We have the choice to bake
them there or take home and bake. We will have time during the lunch and
mtg to bake. And a large spoon to mix.
Any questions contact Linda Sushynski@ [email protected] 810 639 0387
Please contact her directly to RSVP so she can prepare.
Today’s Supply fee $ 8 & teacher fee $ 10 ( fees for both projects) . Payable to Linda S.
Join us for a fun filled day!

Chapter Paint Day w/ Wendy and Char April 9th ,2016
Snow Owl 9:30-12
Halloween Magic 1- 4 pm
( a Debbie Cole design)
(a Sonja Richardson design)
Both of these classes will be taught for free to our Members only, by our representatives
attending conventions last year, as our agreement and with permission of designers.
The Snow Owl will be taught in the morning session on a Masonite insert, (provided) painted
in acrylic. Learn how to do feather strokes, shade with just a few colors and learning how to
paint awesome eyes.
Halloween Magic will be taught after a pot luck lunch served. A favorite Halloween design by
Sonja, with lots of details. Could be done with just the pumpkin, frog and part moon. Or as
above. Surface will be of your choice and done in acrylic colors
After you sign up, you will receive your line drawing pattern and prep instructions. In order to
paint both of these in one day you will need to prep the surfaces before class.
Non members may join us to paint this day with a fee of $ 25 for one or for both classes $ 40.
You may chose both classes or just one, if you prefer. You must reserve a seat if you would
want to paint.. before Apr 4, 2016 Members you need to confirm attending by calling,
mailing or email: Char Ellis 810 395 7028/ [email protected]

the few times that we teach our decorative painting to the public. Each box will
have a special technique for you to learn. You can do more then one if you have
time. A great time to learn and it’s free!
Bring a dish to pass for lunch or brown bag it. Please call Rosalie Fraley at
810-487-0773 if you can attend. We want to make sure we have enough boxes
prepared when you arrive.
We can use helpers in basecoating & varnish of these boxes also. Or Just join us to
share the fun that day.. Thank you in advance for supporting our project.
Please share the flyer around your area.

OCTOBER LUNCHEON 2016
Sunday October 2, 2016
The planning for the luncheon is underway. We are looking for a new facility this year. Any
suggestions will be welcomed. Our theme, this year, will be
“Take a seat, Prop your feet ”,
We are having painted chairs or stools for the Special Raffle. We need a lot of help!! Painted
items needed for the Silent Auction, Special Raffle, Boutique and Hostesses for the tables. This
is our fundraiser for Valley to bring in seminars and other programs. And a good chance to use
some of our STUFF & UFO’s Six ladies have volunteered their talent for the Special Raffle
items and hostesses. We need a great attendance for this event to be a success so please pass
it around to your friends and others.
PLEASE HELP! Get started now!
MEMORY BOXES
FEBUARY 2016
It’s time to start painting Memory Boxes! Remember the person painted the most boxes
will receive a free 2017 V.T. Membership. Share the invite to our Box Party with your friends
and around town. We would like to have more attend so ask your friends, neighbors, anyone!
Thank you for your support in painting our boxes. The families that receive them really
appreciate them.
Painting World Magazine
There has been talk on the internet about a new painting magazine coming out later this
spring.. An actual hard copy with promises of a lineup of designers & their great designs.
Many names you know more info check out Paintworldmag.com. Heard that the daughter
from Cupboard Dist. will be the editor… so hopefully we’ll again see some nice projects.
Mixer 2017. We decided as the board, to be the host of the next Michigan Mixer! We have
picked out a theme and have some ideas for favors, centerpieces, raffle prizes etc. We will
need everyone to help paint as we hope to have 80 or so come. I know, we are asking our
members to paint for another event.. We can do this! We have some fun ideas for paint days
to help get things painted and enjoy each other. We love to paint! This way we can paint &
not have it at our homes where we may not want more things. Also a good way to finish those
UFO’s.. We plan to have a walk thru our area to start making plans after the March Mtg.
Motions recently passed by VT Board of Directors .. 2016
Michigan Mixer 2017: (a) Motion made, seconded and passed to offer red-white-blue sewn tissue covers for
table favors (sewn by Rosalie Fraley), as our theme is “Patriotic Painters”.
(b) Board voted to offer red-white-blue quilt (sewn by Sally Mainville) as special raffle at Mixer.
Charity Donation: Motion made, seconded and passed to donate $100 to SDP museum.

Sunshine report
Since our last Newsletter I have sent a Get Well card to Vonna, she has had some health issues and now doing
much better. A card going out to Sally Mainville, she had a heart attack recently.(She is home now & doing
well) Clarice Allen, a former member fell and fractured a hip. She was or is in a nursing home because her
husband is not well enough to care for her. Sure she would appreciate cards from members that remember her.
