From the Olympic-style Opening Ceremony to the intensity of competing in

The Dana Cup is for Elite Boys and Girls Teams U12 – U18.
The Dana Cup is one of Europe's premier tournaments that takes place every
summer in Hjørring, in the very north of Denmark. During the years the Dana Cup
has hosted over half a million participants from all continents of the world! Each
summer Hjørring is visited by over 850 girls and boys teams from 45 different
nations. This international atmosphere makes the tournament a great multicultural
event where Hjørring shows its' very best side.

DESTINATIONS
HJØRRING
Hjørring is the main town and the administrative seat of Hjørring Municipality, Denmark. The population amounts
to 24,953 inhabitants (2009). It is one of Denmark's oldest towns, and it celebrated its 750 year anniversary as a
market town in 1993. Hjørring has been growing in recent years, with new shops and franchises opening. The most
recent addition to Hjørring is the new city shopping centre, Metropol, which has led to a change in the city centre
as one of Hjørring's main streets, Østergade, has been closed to vehicular traffic and is now open only for
pedestrians and bicycles. Metropol, inaugurated in March 2008, is located on Østergade.

DAY 1: SATURDAY JULY 21st, 2012
Depart North America on route to Aalborg, Denmark (overnight flight). Your
Challenger Travel Director will either accompany you on the flight or will meet
you off the plane at your final destination.
DAY 2: SUNDAY JULY 22nd, 2012
AM: Arrive in Aalborg and transfer to school accommodation in Hjørring,
provided by the Dana Cup (Hotel upgrades are available).
PM: Free time to enjoy Hjørring.
PPM: Organize a Pre Tournament Training Session.

DAY 3 - 6: MON. JULY 23rd – THURS. JULY 26th, 2012
The Dana Cup hosts over 2000 games for approximately 800 teams from
around 45 different nations each year. Over the last 27 years more than half a
million participants from 100 nations have made it to The Dana Cup.
The Dana Cup is a well oiled organization that looks forward to welcoming you
and your team to Hjørring. The Dana Cup has a unique international
atmosphere that takes place in secure surroundings, in one of the most
beautiful places in Denmark.

DAY 7 - 8: FRIDAY JULY 29th – SATURDAY JULY 30th, 2012
The Dana Cup Finals Day. Games watched by approximately 25,000 people. If your team has been knocked out
you can enjoy the day by visiting other tourist attractions in Denmark or enjoy all the soccer action.
Other Activities during the Dana Cup
• The Dana Cup Extra can be added to the tour as a warm up
tournament.
• Tivoli is like any other Tivoli around the world. Fun rides
and activities to keep everybody smiling and having fun.
• Our Golf Tournament is held at Hjørring´s superb 18 hole
course close to the Dana Cup center. Playing in the
tournament also includes lunch and prizes.
• The fireworks display.
• The Dana Cup Disco.
