Woolpert collects aerial lidar with imagery, which blends the
feature- and terrain-mapping capabilities of photogrammetry
with dense, foliage-penetrating 3D-point measurements. Our
state-of-the-art lidar systems provide incredible efficiency.
We provide both shallow and deep-water bathymetry. By
collecting elevation and water depth simultaneously, we are
able to analyze the entire water column—providing detailed
data for safe navigation and charting.

Terrestrial
We collect dense, highly accurate lidar data from a fleet of
mobile platforms (vehicle, boat or ATV), which keep survey
crews out of traffic and reduces collection time and cost. Our
mobile lidar services are used for transportation design, 3D
modeling and asset management.
Service Spotlight: Solar Potential
Woolpert provides high-accuracy as-built documentation
for facilities, plants, airports, buildings and underground
structures. Since we provide a field-to-finish product, we also
deliver CAD and GIS models, building information models
(BIM) and traditional 2D and 3D CAD drawings.
Woolpert used lidar and imagery datasets to measure the mean annual and hourly solar insolation received at 250,000 Ohio
structures in a 1,000-square-mile area. This data was used in an interactive website that residents can use to estimate usable
rooftop area, incoming solar radiation and the cost efficiency of installing solar panels.
