The first known Kenyan registration of being in the 1890’s • Use of the outdated manual systems, cumbersome procedures & Practices • Uncoordinated Land Records Data Sets 11/03/2016 4 Challenges • • • • • • • Infrastructure and equipment for an e- platform was very lean. Non-integration of systems in the various departments within the Ministry. Slow adoption of ICTs due to lack of comprehensive sensitization programme. Capacity skill levels whereas the Ministry has highly qualified and technical staff, the levels of e literacy is still low. Space Facilities that are not able to host einfrastructure. Logistical constraints as the registries are in 57 locations countrywide. ICT Infrastructure • Established LANS Infrastructure In Ministry HQ & 13 no. Field Offices Out of 58 Lands offices. • Established Internet connectivity in the 13 out of 56 Land Registries. 19 3. Digitization and Computerization of Land Registration Processes • Acquired, and Configured a Web-based Document Management System (DMS) And Related Work-flows. • Digitized Nairobi registry as a model online registry. • 12 Registries are in the final processes of Digitization. 20 4.
