Cyrano de Bergerac
By David Reeves
A Musical Adaptation of
Edmond Rostand’s
Heroic Comedy
In 17th century Paris, at a time of political turbulence, there lived
a flamboyant, swashbuckling, gallant hero. The not very attractive
Cyrano de Bergerac loves passionately, but silently.
The subject of that love was his childhood friend, the beautiful
Roxanne, who only had eyes for another, the very elegant but
inarticulate Christian de Neuvilette.
The supremely eloquent Cyrano is asked to guide Christian’s love to Roxanne, a task Cyrano achieves brilliantly. Alas... Christian
and Roxanne are married but there is a war going on and Christian becomes an early casualty, shot dead. Too late Roxanne
discovers that the very eloquent words she had fallen in love with belonged to the heart and soul of Cyrano and it was with Cyrano’s
heart that Roxanne’s true love lay all the time.
Casting · 7 principal characters · Male and female ensemble · Minor roles
“It has some truly memorable and melodic music which can stand on its own, the mark of a good musical”
-Peta Koch, The Courier Mail
7 Little
Australians
Music by David Reeves
Book by David Reeves, John Palmer and
Peter Yeldham
Lyrics by John Palmer and David Reeves
The Woolcott children are holy terrors. Everyone says so.
How Esther Woolcott, only 21 herself and the second
wife of Captain Woollcott manages the brood of seven
children is amazing. Her loving care acts as a buffer
when the Captain’s anger is raised by their outlandish
behaviour. Bunty, Pip and the Little General, together
with their sisters, Judy, Meg, Baby and Nell embarrass
their father in front of his Commanding Officer, wreck
their weekly French lesson, and generally play up until
eventually Judy, the ring leader is banished to Miss
Burton’s Academy in the Blue Mountains. In no time
the discipline at the Academy drives her to run away
home. During a violent thunderstorm, Judy bravely
saves the life of the Little General but loses her own.
With breaking hearts, the family goes home to Sydney to
pick up the threads of their lives.

Millie’s War
(The Female Eunuch Dialogues)
by DORIAN MODE
Based on historical events, Millie’s War is set in the 1980s when a number of women attempted to
join official ANZAC Day marches across Canberra to commemorate women raped in war. Fourteen
women were arrested. The following year again in Canberra, around 250 women attempted to join
the tail of the official ANZAC Day march but were stopped by police. The police were acting under
Section 23A of the Traffic Ordinance, a section conveniently gazetted the day before the march.
Approximately 64 people, mainly women, were arrested and charged.
With this dramatic backdrop, Millie’s War is set largely in the boardroom of an RSL Club. When
the sleepy local branch of this RSL meet with the women in order to dissuade them from upsetting
their sacred parade of remembrance, the crotchety president of the RSL Club is appalled to find his
own granddaughter is one of the feminists attempting to spoil their day. Tempers soon reach boiling
point as each side argues the case for the importance of commemorating victims of war.
Millie’s War is a full-length play running approximately 80 mins

In the 1950s, a star-struck, plain and
dumpy London schoolgirl imagines she
could become a glamorous movie idol. Her
parents tell her that her fantasies will never
come true and not to dream the impossible
dream. But nothing can deter her, and
blessed with an amazing voice and talent,
she sets out to become a singer and star.
Soon plain Mary O’Brien has transformed
herself into the blonde pop icon, Dusty
Springfield. But while Dusty, the gorgeous
blonde star is the image the world sees,
it is an illusion behind which little Mary
O’Brien still lives; the alter ego from which
Dusty can never escape and who remains
with her throughout her life.
She was one of the most influential British
female artists of the 60s. Known as the
White Lady of Soul, she was responsible
for bringing the Motown sound to the UK.
But the success she wanted is hollow and
real happiness eludes her. Driven by her
sense of perfection, Dusty takes on the
world even as she discovers a desperate
need to be loved in a way that could cause
her career to crash. At the pinnacle of
international success, with triumphs in
Britain and America, Dusty finds the
pressure unbearable. Unable to be what
other people expect, and finding the
spotlight’s heat can burn, she retreats from
the world into a dark place.
In the 1960s Dusty Springfield takes the
entertainment world by storm with a score
of hits, a top TV show and a legion of fans.
Finding strength in adversity, Dusty
returns to soar to the top. With the world
applauding again, she has one more battle
to fight...

Shout! The Story of The Wild One is a
production based on the life and times of
Johnny O’Keefe, the undisputed King of
Australian Rock and Roll.
The time is 1957 and there is little or no rock
scene in Australia. A local band, the Dee Jays
with vocalist Johnny O’Keefe supports Bill
Haley when he tours the country. This leads to a
contract with Festival Records. Johnny O’Keefe
quickly becomes a major figure in establishing
rock and roll and pop music in Australia with a
series of hit records and performances on Lee
Gordon’s “Big Shows”. He supports some of
the greatest names of the rock era including
Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran and Chuck Berry,
whom he blasts off the stages of stadiums
with
his
frantic
stage
act
that
earned him the title “The Wild One”.
Hosting his own national radio program, touring
America and being on television soon leads to
depression and a near fatal car crash which
affects him physically and mentally. He suffers
serious, highly publicised nervous breakdowns.
He achieves some of his greatest successes
during these times but gradually it takes its toll as
he struggles to conform to marriage and family
life. Health problems lead to his untimely death on
1978 at the age of 43, only one year prior to Elvis.
SHOUT! Features songs such as Rock Around the
Clock, Save the Last Dance for Me, She Wears My Ring,
Mockingbird and many more!
Casting · 3 F, 6 M · The Dee Jays · 5 M · The Deltones · 4 M · Ensemble · 8 G, 8 B, singing and dancing

“Wild One brings the house down! An obvious crowd pleaser. The production attains poignancy
and dramatic conflict. A nostalgia trip but also an exciting entertainment.”
- Sydney Morning Herald
“SHOUT! will rock your socks off!... A triumph! Informative, deeply nostalgic and musically and
choreographically brilliant. Rarely has such a feat been achieved with such efficacy and subtlety
in musical. Mere words can’t do it justice.”

The story of Mary MacKillop: Australia’s first Saint
All Mary MacKillop wanted was to live the dream. But to the staunch male hierarchy of the Roman Catholic
Church, she was a nightmare. What MacKillop didn’t count on was the degree of obstruction that would
stand in her way.
She was Australia’s Martin Luther, an Aussie Battler and a woman for all seasons.
Her holiness takes place in a double time frame: The 18th Century and the 21st Century.
One hundred and forty years after Mary MacKillop, in 2008, another young Australian woman, Anna, goes
to Rome with a passionate mission to seek an audience with Pope Benedict to push for the final steps of Mary
MacKillop’s case to be Australia’s first Saint.
When owing to a terror alert, the US President is forced to cancel a visit to the Pontiff, Pope Benedict has rare
time on his hands and, captivated by the young visitor from Australia, grants her a longer audience than she
expected...
Casting · 6 F, 11 M · Guards, Beggars, Chief of Police (multiple doubling roles)
By John Mallord and Melvyn Morrow
Francis of Assisi is probably the world’s most popular Saint.
His story of playboy turned friar is an inspiring reversal of the
usual rags to riches tale. Francis Assisi is also famous for his
love of animals, particularly birds, though any number of the
dolly birds of his day pursued him as a rich teenage wild child.
Already hailed in Britain as the ideal school musical, Perfectly
Frank has an amazing seal of approval: it was performed in
Canterbury, England to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the
arrival of the Franciscans, and the role of Francis (Frank) was
played by a young Franciscan Friar!
The creative team, Melvyn Morrow and John Mallord, have
adapted Perfectly Frank for Australasia. It is a musical for any
cast and orchestra size. There are 5 main roles and the story
has been written to allow any number and any combination of
narrators and cameo roles.

Perfectly Frank can be as lavish or as minimalist as budget and
vision permit.

Craig Felton is a Year 10 Killara High School football hero and legend in his own half time.
Craig scores when he goes on the Shakespeare ride and becomes a real player. He figures the
best way to pull the chicks is to star in the school play. At sixteen, he reckons he’s the perfect Puck.
So do the girls. At seventeen, he’s the Home and Away Hamlet and then the Neighbours Romeo,
not to mention the Schoolies Prince Hal. By eighteen, he’s been through the complete works, his
midsummer night’s dream turning into a testosterone-fuelled tempest.
This cabaret-musical is a teenage Shakespearean soap with a sting in the tail.
To be or not be a Shakespearean lover? That is the question.
SHAKESPEAREAN IDOL is the answer.

CONNECTED - The Cyber Bullying Musical
Book, Music and Lyrics By Craig Christie
CONNECTED is an original piece of musical theatre straight from its
premier at the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the UK. Celebrated and
applauded to much acclaim, it opened dialogue with every audience
member about cyber bullying. Craig Christie, the writer, has cleverly adapted the show for a school age
audience. This exceptional piece of theatre offers students and the school
community a highly professional musical production, that exposes the
dangers and raises awareness by generating discussion about this very
serious and relevant issue.
Emma arrives at a new school and runs the gauntlet of finding out
about friendship groups and how the game is played in this new
setting.
Meanwhile, Dylan’s social awkwardness means he is spending
more and more time on his computer, locked away in his room.
When Emma finds herself the object of unwanted attention of
the school jock, Michael, his ex-girlfriend Kate uses any means
available to put the new girl in her place.
The entire situation takes a turn towards the sinister as their online
worlds collide with their lives in a way over which they have
no control and which threatens to have the most disastrous
consequences.
“The show is great as it covers real life issues, and the music was FANTASTIC!”
-Teacher, Bacchus Marsh College
“Kids loved the show and found it very relatable...gave a great awareness into Cyber Safety”
-Teacher, Otahuhu Primary School

One of the world’s most popular musicals!
Rydell High’s senior class of 1959: duck tailed, hot-rodding “Burger Place Boys” and their gum
snapping, hip shaking “Pink Ladies” in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoking the look and sound
of the 1950’s in this rollicking musical.
Head “Greaser” Danny Zuko and new good girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high romance
of their “Summer Nights” as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through such songs
as “Greased Lightnin’”, “Summer Nights” and “We Go Together” - recalling the music of Buddy
Holly, Little Richard and Elvis Presley.
An 8 year run on Broadway and 2 subsequent revivals along with innumerable school and
community productions place Grease among the world’s most popular musicals. Grease the
musical premiered on Broadway in 1972 and played for 3,388 performances becoming the longest
running musical at the time.

Lyrics By Gary Osborne except
‘Forever Autumn’ by Gary Osborne and Paul Vigrass and
‘The Eve of the War’ by Jeff Wayne
One of the most innovative, ground-breaking, ambitious and expensive projects of its time, the
making of Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of the War of the Worlds was almost as epic as the
final work itself. Like Wells’ original novel, the album’s appeal has continued long after many
of its imitators have faded into obscurity.
For many people Jeff Wayne’s album offers more than just 95 minutes of musical escapism;
it offers an introduction to a literary world that might otherwise never be explored; a world in
which fantastic interplanetary adventures are given life,
nightmares become reality and a world in which even the
craziest, most disturbing notions are feasible.

A Musical Play by Dale Wasserman
Music by Mitch Leigh, Lyrics by Joe Darion
Set in Spain in 1597 Manuel de Cervantes, the author of “DON
QUIXOTE” is imprisoned and while awaiting trial by the infamous
Spanish Inquisition, he and his fellow prisoners act out the story
he has written.
It tells of the deeds of Alonso Quijana, an elderly country
gentleman “whose brains dry up” and who imagines he is a dauntless
knight known as DON QUIXOTE de la MANCHA. Quijana has lain
down the melancholy burden of sanity and decided to sally forth
as the Don to right the wrongs in the world.
Together with his faithful servant Sancho he travels the land
defending the honour of Dulcinea, seeing good in everyone until
he is brought back to reality by the terrifying knight of the
Mirrors.
Cervantes finishes his romantic story in the prison, just in time to
face an uncertain future at the hands of the cruel Inquisition, to
the wistful singing of Aldonza – The Impossible Dream.

Act One is set in the fabulous sixties — a time when we were still screaming at
Elvis and listening to the Beatles, but were dancing to the new beat of countless
girl and boy groups like The Supremes, The Marvelettes, The Temptations and The
Shirelles. Act Two shows the creation and the arrival of disco — though the word
is never used in the script. The subject matter of this play deals with a musical
contribution to America of such importance that only now — decades later — are
we beginning to understand.

Dramatic Publishing Musicals
Adapted by Joseph Robinette, Music by Ronna Frank, Lyrics by Joseph Robinette and
Ronna Frank. Based on the book by E.B. White. The musical version of this classic tale about
a little mouse born into a normal New York family further enhances the charming story of a
determined “underdog” trying to survive in a “real people’s world”. From melodic ballads to
exciting chorus numbers, the score by England’s Ronna Frank features such delightful songs
as “Paddle Your Own Canoe” and “Nightime in New York” (sung by a quartet of cats!). As with
the play version, ease of staging, along with flexible casting and minimal set and costume
requirements, make Stuart Little an ideal show for any age group or budget. Casting · 7 - 30
F & M · Ensemble · Audition CD and accompaniment CD available.
Adaptation, Music and new Lyrics by Douglas Post. Based on the book by Kenneth Grahame.
This musical tells the story of the friendship of the good-hearted Water Rat, the shy and curious
Mole, and the sensible Badger. What tests that friendship are the antics of Mr. Toad, a wily
and impulsive animal given to sudden crazes such as stealing motor cars and driving them
recklessly around the countryside. Their task is to save Toad from himself and then rescue the
magnificent Toad Hall from the devious weasels, ferrets and stoats.
Casting · 5 F, 8 M · Ensemble.
By Leslie J. Caulfield. Based on a concept by Spencer Carey. There are some strange stirrings
at the local cemetery. It seems an unusual space/time anomaly has brought back (from
their final resting place) Big Zeke, his ex-girl ZsaZsa and the rest of their cronies. They all died
tragic teen deaths back in the 1950s but are now allowed to roam the earth for one more
evening of zombie fun. Andrew, however, is not very happy with his new undeadness. He is
a romantic, not a rabble rouser and soon falls for a lovely, living girl, Louise. Can a zombie
find true love with a living breathing woman? Can he kiss her without his lips falling off? These
and other pressing questions are answered in this delightful “Night of the Living Dead” meets
“Happy Days” musical. Casting · 4 F, 5 M · Ensemble.
Book, Music and Lyrics by Sheldon Allman and Bob Pickett. John and Mary, both painfully
naive, find themselves stranded near a medieval castle on the outskirts of Steubenville, Ohio.
They ask to use the phone to call the auto club, but then the bridge washes out and they’re
stuck for the night. Soon they meet Dr. Victor Frankenstein, Igor, The Monster, Count Dracula
and his wife Natasha, Renfield, assorted female vampires, The Wolfman and his mother Mom
Talbot, The Mummy and his factotum Dr. Abdul Nasser and, of course, assorted villagers. This
musical romp offers great opportunity for inventive set design, costumes and makeup while
providing your cast and audience with just plain fun!
Casting · 12 F, 7 M · Optional Ensemble · Draculettes and grave robbers may be added.
Book and Lyrics by Joseph Robinette, Music by Karl Jurman. Two of literature’s most
unforgettable young ladies get mixed up together in a magical meeting that produces
hilarious results as the audience becomes reacquainted with a cast of familiar characters
and sees them in a new light. This fun-filled romp follows Alice and Dorothy and their coteries
as they try to unscramble their stories with the help of a contemporary young lad who started
the whole thing to begin with when he put off a book report until the very last minute.
Casting · 11 F flexible.

raucous retelling of that famous dinosaur-themed film, this time
