A few years after Antal Doráti’s
benchmark recordings of the complete
Haydn Symphonies (1969-1972), his
wife, pianist Ilse von Alpenheim,
recorded the first Haydn Piano Sonata
Cycle (London, 1977-1979)
In May this year, we released Volumes
4-6 of Ilse von Alpenheim’s pioneering
recordings, here complete on CD for the
first time, in superb remasterings by
Shaw Sounds, Romford and Tom Sharp.
This month we are releasing the
remaining six discs, Volumes 1-3 and
Volumes 6-8
