Polli experimental fruit and berry processing centre
at the Institute of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences
of Estonian University of Life Sciences is an innovation
centre aiming at facilitating study, research
and development activities and is financially supported by the “Estonia - Latvia Programme 2007-2013”
project “Goodfruit“ promoting sustainable development and economic competitiveness in Estonia and
Latvia.

1 Washing unit – the device is for washing fresh
fruits and fresh berries, made with stainless steel.
The unit is combined with the elevator and crusher.
The unit have table for dumping raw materials from
boxes. Unit is with depositing zone with inclined
discharging, covered with exchangeable grate and
with fitting, with a valve to dump wastewater. Unit
allows also to be used as the hopper for melted
berries without water.
Conveyor belt elevator for raw material Voran
2 SA - as a technological unit it is combined with the
washing device and crusher. It ensure gentle intake
of fruit and berries from the washer and provide
following transportation to the height of up to 1,7 m
(for instance into the crusher). The speed of belt is
adjustable. Conveyor is equipped with water
shower for final washing with valve.

requirements meant for crushing various fresh and
unfrozen fruit and berries (supplied with the
complete set of quick change screens)

5 Mash pump – the rubber rotor pump with hopper is
for delivery of enzymated or unenzymated mash
with different dry matter content. With the device
have possible to regulate amount of the mass
tranportation, by regulating the running time
(dosing cycle from start pedal). Set includes
necessary fittings.

4 Mash enzymatization tanks FO-K (double
jacket)– Stainless steel tanks with the lids and
double jacket to heat or cool the mass with water.
The set includes special automatic water
heating/cooling unit, with temperature regulation.
Joints ,valves, tubes DN 40. Equipped also with
slow speed stirrer (adjustable speed) and support for
stirrer for mass mixing.

Juice press Voran 100 P2-D – hydraulic pack
press type system for high pressing yield and
quality for different fruits and berries.
Two shifting pack- tray system, with juice collector.
Set consists of at least 18 clothes for apples and 18
clothes for berries. For juice collection the set
includes a tank (100 l) with disc valve DN 32

6b Belt press Voran EBP500 – single belt press
type juice press for juice exctraction from various
plant materials, like fruits (apples, pears, plums,
cherries, quince ect.) and berries (black currant,
blueberry, cranberry, strawberry, sea-buckthorn
ect.) Capacity up to 700 kg/hour.

7 Juice pump Ö 2 - pump meet the appropriate
hygiene requirements, provide adjustable gentle
juice transportation between tanks or press. Pump is
equipped with thermo safety control. The set
includes tubes (with total length 6 m diameter
DN32) and necessary fittings and fitting adapters.

8 Depectinizing, clarifying tanks FS-MO-082-
0750- stainless steel tanks specially made for
clarifying juices, with a manhole, fill level
indicator, caps. Includes at least 2 welded fittings
and disc valves DN 40 for clear output, turnable
tube and glass window for control, discharge of
juice without particles. For residue discharge at
least 2 fittings and disc valves DN 50/50. The tank
and level indicator have cleaning pipe, with a
showerhead with necessary fittings. Into the tank
have possible to add additives.
8b Juice stirrer – tank is equipped with fittings in
tank roof and one special slow stirrer for mixing the
clarification materials.

universal tanks made from stainless steel, easy to
maintain and wash, with manhole and floating lid
(with air seal and pressure gauge, easy to lift) with

discharge at least 2 fitting and disc valves DN
50/50.
Set include one stirrer and fittings for stirrer,
mixing juice with water and to add additives.

12 Semi automatic filler RF 4 – hygienic device,
capable to fill hot and cold, clarified and cloudy
fruit and berry juice (with various juice density) and
drinks.

pasteuriser. Filler is suitable to fill bottles with
various heights and volumes. Includes drop tray.

31 Dehydrator – IR-vacuum dyer for various fresh
and frozen plant materials (berries, fruits,
vegetables, ect) with various content of dry matter.
With the dryer have possibility to regulate and
observe the lenght of dehydrating process
The dryer is chamber, with drying trays, made of
stainless steel.The dehydrating process is based on
heat convection and moisture condension principle.
(moisture from the chamber is condensated on
theinner Wallis of chamber)
The temperature of the dryer is adjustable up to 80
0
C . Vacuum 0,4-0,7 kgs/cm2.
