I humbly appreciate your attendance at tonight‟s 7th Annual KVCC Foundation
An Evening of Jazz Gala.
In the time I‟ve served with the Foundation, I‟ve come to appreciate that Kennebec Valley Community College is
one of Central Maine‟s Best Kept Secrets. The dedication and quality of Students, Educators, Staff and
Administration of this progressive and fast-growing educational institution is exemplary and “best in class”. Our
Foundation‟s Board of Trustees, friends, and contributors are no different; and I feel proud to be part of this elite
group of individuals.
We are, however, challenged with the reality of the times:
 A growing demand for providing quality education to an emerging and unemployed workforce requiring skill
sets for new employment opportunities.
 Greater institutional demands to expand and develop new education programs to meet these workforce needs.
 An expanding student population resulting in greater student and institutional financial needs.
 A massive physical plant expansion of KVCC campus with the addition of the Harold Alfond Campus.
 State and Federal funding shortfalls compounding both institutional and student financial needs.
 A competitive landscape and challenged local economy.
As Chair of the KVCC Foundation Board of Trustees, I respectfully appreciate your participation and support.
Many of you have donated your time, talents, and resources to the benefit of KVCC students and for that, we are
all very grateful.

I am currently entering my second year in the Electrical Technology
Program at KVCC. I love working in the electrical field, and I know that
my training will help many people in the future. My family is very
proud of my accomplishment of successfully completing my first year
of college.

Silver Street has been a centerpiece of downtown Waterville since the early 1900’s. Originally, the building was
home to Giguere’s Clothing Store, hence the ornate “G” on the beautiful stained-glass windows. In the early
1970’s, a major renovation transformed this structure into a landmark restaurant known as the Silver Street
Tavern, as it has operated for more than 30 years.

Live Auction: high bidders will be determined by the auctioneer.
Disputes: In the event of a dispute, KVCC Foundation staff will have sole and final discretion in determining the winning bidder.
All Sales are Final: There will be no refunds or exchanges. Please read all specifications and limitations carefully. Lost or stolen
items are not replaceable.
Payment: Payment in full shall be made between 9:15-10:00pm before the close of the event. Alternate payment arrangements may
be available. However, items or certificates must remain with Foundation staff until fully paid for.
Tax Deduction: Purchase prices in excess of listed value may be claimed as a charitable contribution according to IRS rules.

Experience an exciting day of Blue Fin Tuna and shark fishing off the beautiful coast of Maine. A Giant Blue Fin
Tuna hookup is like no rush one has ever experienced – the reel screams, the crew goes nuts, 25 things happen
at once, you clear the deck, then you start reeling like crazy until your arm feels like it is going to fall off. Imagine
a 200 pound plus fish taking the bait and swimming off at 50 miles an hour.
Jigging for ground fish is always exciting, never knowing what is on the end of the line as you reel in. Along with
Blue Fin Tuna one may encounter many species of sharks, most commonly the Blue Shark but perhaps you will
catch a Mako, Porbeagle or a Thresher shark. Although there are no guarantees of an allusive fish catch, you are
sure to experience a tremendous nature show which may include whale and porpoise sightings.
Your boat will leave from Rockland Harbor at 7:00am sharp for what hopes to be an action packed day of off
shore fishing. Return will be by 5:00 pm unless there is a late afternoon bite. The boat can accommodate 6 adult
anglers but is most comfortable with 4 adults and 2 younger anglers.
The trip can be booked for the last 2 weeks in July or August or the first 2 weeks of September and is dependent
on the weather. Guests must provide a cooler full of food and drink for your party. (PLEASE No Bananas, bad
luck).
