Bydgoszcz is increasingly active economically with an aboveaverage level of entrepreneurship. Due to the presence of important foreign and domestic investors in the region, a number of investments in infrastructure and a very active Pomeranian Special Economic Zone, the region has been significantly gaining in attractiveness in the sector of industrial facilities of production and warehouse use. This is confirmed by investment plans of Panattoni Europe which is to build a logistics centre in the City as well as an increasing interest from new investors. In the City which is currently a diversified industrial and service centre, a number of domestic and foreign companies chose to locate their headquarters. Due to numerous technical and economic universities Bydgoszcz offers access to specialised and well-qualified staff who generate relatively low labour costs. Very successful is also the operation of the Bydgoszcz Industrial and Technological Park which occupies an area of nearly 300 hectares which is fully included in the Local Land Development Scheme. What is important, the Park gives investors an opportunity to purchase or lease the land armed with modern infrastructure, well suited to their needs. Well-prepared land, favourable economic climate, skilled staff in the Park, as well as in the City administration offices allow to start an investment quickly and realise it safely. A part of the Park also operates within the Pomeranian Economic Zone, allowing entrepreneurs to benefit from significant tax reliefs. Additionally, a planned construction of S5 express road which will link Bydgoszcz with Poznań may considerably enhance the opportunities to develop on the industrial-warehouse market in Bydgoszcz. It will become a future express connection between the Kuyavian-Pomeranian and the Lower Silesia Voivodeships.
