TYPE OF LANDSCAPE
For hilly, sloping or uneven ground you should choose a self propelled lawn mower with larger
wheels. Alternatively, for a lawn tractor choose a product with a powerful engine. Our suspended
cutting deck is also excellent for larger and uneven lawn areas as it can easily adapt to the ground.
Hard to reach places
Large rear wheels and caster front wheels will improve manoeuvrability with lawn mowers.
Cub Cadet offers lawn tractors with a 40 and 46cm turning radius and also a zero-turn ride-on
for areas where movement is limited. Front cuts can provide a solution for mowing under trees.
Mulching, Bagging, Discharge
There are different ways of disposing the clippings: mulching, collecting, rear discharge or side
discharge. Many of our models offer you two, three or four options or can be converted with
appropriate attachments. You can recognise these units by our 2-in-1, 3-in-1 or 3-in-1 option logo.

MULCHING, COLLECTING OR
DISCHARGE?
Mulching:
Mulching is recommended for well-groomed gardens and for people who have the ability to
mow at least twice a week during high season.
When mulching, the grass swirls around the cutting deck and is thus being cut several times
until particles are so small that they will fall through the blades onto the ground. As grass
consists almost 90% of water, it is recycled back into the soil and not lost. It can be used as a
natural green fertilizer. The smaller the particles are, the better
groomed the garden looks and less debris lies on top of the
grass.
For best results do not attempt to cut grass by more than
1 - 2 cm. The secret to mulching is little and often. Energy
consumption will raise dramatically with length of grass as
the resistance gets higher with extra grass volume.

Collecting:
Collecting is recommended for those who don´t have the time to mow very often and want to
have a clean looking well-groomed garden as well. Besides that, collecting has the advantage
to take debris such as leaves and dead grass out and make
room for light and water. In return, the garden needs a good
amount of water for a healthy appearance and the grass needs
to be disposed into a composter, a garden waste bin or just
an invisible area.
When collecting the clippings, the resistance on the cutting blade is less than when mulching because grass is cut once and
directly transported into the bag. Therefore energy consumption
is in favour of collecting.

Discharge:
When discharging the clippings, the grass is usually released
through an opening on the side or rear of the cutting deck and
spread back onto the lawn. This type of lawn care is usually
recommended for more natural meadows that don´t need cutting
as frequently as well-groomed gardens and that grow higher.
Usually, these conditions do not persist around the house as
the grass debris will end up in the house, pool or walkways.
The resistance on the blade is almost identical to collecting
but backpressure from a collector is absent, so discharging is the most energy efficient method
to mow.

Transmission
The Transmatic transmission allows shift-on-the-go speed control. Simply choose the driving
direction, release the brake, then select the basic speed with the speed shift lever on the
dashboard and start mowing. Slowing down or speeding up is controlled by the foot pedal for
smooth, gearless, continuously variable speed control.

The AutoDriveTM transmission is maintenance free. It can be compared with the automatic
transmission of a car: The speed can simply be adjusted with the foot pedal. With the gear
selector lever you simply choose forward or reverse direction. You don’t have to bother with
clutching. Both hands remain on the steering wheel.

The Hydrostatic transmission impresses by means of modern technology. Because of its
self-lubricating hydro pump, it has low maintenance and is extremely sturdy. The particular
feature of a Hydrostatic transmission is that you can control velocity as well as the forward
and reverse speed continuously. No clutching or gear shifting is required. It offers a very smooth
and precise drive. The 1000 Series lawn tractors are foot-pedal controlled, the 700 Series lawn
tractors have either hand control (side discharge) or a foot pedal (rear discharge).

The AllRounder combines the maneuverability and time savings of a zero-turn mower with the comfort and versatility of
a tractor. On traditional zero-turn mowers, only the rear wheels are controlled by pushing and pulling two levers. With
the AllRounder, a steering wheel turns the front wheels and at the same time controls the speed and direction of the
back wheels.
True zero-turn is achieved when the operator turns the steering wheel far enough that the inside rear wheel turns in
reverse just like a traditional zero turn lap-bar controlled machine, the driver can also operate the unit the same way as a

The
Series lawmowers are unique due to their special deck composed of three parts made in aluminium and
zinc coated steel which guarantees durability and performance in terms of collecting and mulching. The rotary motion
of the specially shaped Teflon coated blades generates an air current which speeds grass clippings into the bag. An
integrated tongue on the grass bag supports this function. Cub Cadet
Series lawnmowers are available with
cutting widths from 42 to 53cm. Some models are equipped with variable speed control allowing mowing speed to be
adjusted to your walking pace.

Defining the lawn
First of all, the area to be mowed is restricted by a boundary wire. Paths, ponds and other grass-free areas can also be avoided. Other
obstacles in the garden are detected by sensors and are automatically bypassed. The installation of the boundary wire is required only
once and completed in a few steps. Boundary wires are included and are secured to the ground with stakes. In time the wire
disappears in the soil.

Easy-to-use display
With an easy-to-use display, the robotic lawnmower‘s settings can be adjusted and optimised to suit the requirements of each garden. The
robotic lawnmowers automatically leave the charging station at the pre-programmed time to mow the lawn. They begin mowing at the edge
of the predetermined area, and continue mowing the inner lawn area. Before the battery runs out, the lawnmower automatically returns to
the charging station.

Mowing and mulching at the same time
Like most Cub Cadet lawn mowers, robotic lawnmowers operate a proven mulching system. They mow and leave the cut grass on the
ground. Since grass is nearly 90 % water, the soil can reabsorb it. The grass is recycled as a natural fertiliser feeding the soil. Weeds

Especially after a long winter, lawns need a spring beauty treatment. Moss, leaves and decaying plants form notorious lawn thatch which functions like a sponge that binds water and nutrients, keeping light and air from the soil. The
lawn waterlogs and can’t breathe so the growth of the grass is limited. Correct scarifying removes thatch so light, air
and water can reach the soil and roots of the grass. A few weeks after scarifyinig your lawn will be better and thicker
especially when it is regularly fertilised and cut.

The CC V 40 B has 17 flail double blades and 16 double springs. This combination allows for two
functions in one machine – for aerating and verticutting. For aerating the soil use the higher position with
a gentle touch of the blades and springs on the surface of the soil. For verticuting, use a deeper position
of the blades and springs which works the surface more aggressively.

Tips on SCARIFYing
After scarifying, the grass and thatch must be removed from the lawn. We recommend scarifying in
moderate weather as heat and intense sunshine may burn the ground along the cutting lines. It is
also recommended to use fertiliser.
Once the grass has been scarified, you can use your walk behind mower or lawn tractor to pick up
the debris.

Cub Cadet issues a 2 year warranty for all its products.
For two years from date of retail purchase within Europe, MTD Products AG will, at its option, repair or replace, for the
original purchaser, free of charge, any part or parts found to be defective in material or workmanship – according to MTD
Products AG warranty conditions. This warranty covers units which have been operated and maintained in accordance
with the owner’s instructions furnished with the unit, and which have not been subject to misuse, abuse, commercial use,
neglect, accident improper maintenance or alteration.
For the Cub Cadet
Series Lawn Mowers and the 1000 Series Lawn
Tractors, Cub Cadet offer a 3-year-warranty. After registration, the 3-year-warranty
will be valid from the date of purchase. Please ask your authorised dealer for more
information. The 3 year warranty is subject to the machines being serviced annually. All Cub Cadet units purchased for hire or reward will only be subject to a 1
year warranty.
SERVICING AND PARTS
Our dealers may demonstrate our products and help you find the Cub Cadet to suit your requirements; they also offer advice, servicing, parts and product support from warranty to repairs on all Cub Cadet Products. Spare parts are
