Minute Clinics - Around the World in 20 Minutes
Discover the Emerging Markets! Learn what to expect when placing a catering order: traditional regional
foods, etiquette of the region, food nuances and how to handle the new foods ordered from Brazil, Russia,
India and China. The arriving aircraft from global flight departments needs an understanding of local and
regional cuisine, dining customs, food availability, etiquette and what expectations they may have when it
comes to ordering catering. How do known foods translate to what the flight crew is expecting from their new
catering food sources?
• Brazil. South America’s largest country, Brazil, whose cuisine is worthy of exploration, is known as a
melting pot of cultures, from African to Asian to European influences. Air Culinaire will explain the use
of local flavors and ingredients of this country provide an exciting onboard aircraft catering adventure.
• Russia. The largest country in the world is famous for the rich and hearty foods needed to sustain the
body through harsh winters, and for the delicate Caspian Sea Beluga caviar prized around the world.
Marsden Catering, Zurich, will teach attendee's whether a caviar set-up or borscht–begun meal is
needed, showing that a little knowledge can help to navigate unfamiliar waters to order the perfect
meal for the flight.
• India. From chutneys and fragrant curries to Tandoori-grilled meats, Indian cuisine is diversified
because of religious, geographical, and cultural principles. Alison Price on Air, London, will show how
Indian food is different from the rest of the world – not only in taste, but also in cooking methods. It
reflects an age-old perfect blend of numerous cultures.
• China. Chinese culture and cuisine which is rich in flavor and aroma, stretches back centuries.
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation will enlighten the audience on how a bit of the exotic, a pinch of
excitement, and a bushel of challenges await general aviation catering needs that attendee's should
be prepared to conquer.
