JUNIOR MATH OLYMPICS
The Junior Math Olympics team
made St. Patrick's proud! They
sacrificed numerous recesses to
practice different questions and
games in Math. At the event, the
team worked very well
together.
Congratulations to Bishop Kelly,

and Sabella Ramjallacksingh.
Way to go!
Thank you!
St. Patrick School would like to thank Our

Very much appreciated!
Shared Dreams
Thank you to those of you who were able to donate to our
Lenten Fundraiser, Shared Dreams.
Through loose change collections and the bird house auction,
we were able to donate to the worthy cause.
Thank you to our Student Government, Mrs. Wornoff and Mrs.
Cannon for their leadership. Our total raised is $512.63!
We are so very happy to report that the annual April Fun Fair was a great success! We hope that everyone had a great
time enjoying the many wonderful activities, the silent auction table, the raffle prizes and some baked goods too!
We would like to extend a HUGE thank you to all of the staff and volunteers who helped support with the preparations
leading up to the Fun Fair and for your involvement the night of the event!
Thank you to those of you who gathered and donated items for the raffle draw and silent auction baskets and for
baking some fabulous and tasty treats. All of the contributions helped make the Fun Fair a hit!
With only 9 weeks of school left, there are still many wonderful events to come! Watch for details to come home with
dates and details about the Scholastic Warehouse book sale, breakfast for EQAO testing, Play DAY and the big one –
Grade 8 graduation!
Don’t forget to check out the Parent Lending Library. There are a variety of books on many topics ready to checkout for
free! The books are located in the school library.
A huge thank you to all our sponsors for their donation to the Fun Fair! It was greatly appreciated and we would not
have such success without your donations. We apologize if we have missed your name below. Please inform the School
and we will be sure you make the June newsletter. Thanks to all!

Mental Health Moment
Singer-songwriter Raffi, has recently released a new song that can help children and adults deal in a very simple
way with the stresses and anxieties of everyday life. “Take A Breath (The Self-Reg Song)” is both tuneful and
calming, and provides simple ways, such as breathing slowly in and out, to feel better when feelings are beginning
to overwhelm. Teachers and parents alike will find it helpful when children feel stress. Says Raffi, “Self-regulation is
the awareness of anxiety and our ability to regain a calm centre. Since anxiety constrains intelligence, it’s important
for young and old to learn simple self-reg ways to regain balance. I wrote “Take A Breath” to inspire a self-reg
response in all who hear it.” Check out the rest of the story and stream or download Raffi’s new song

CANADIAN PARENTS FOR FRENCH—EASTERN DIVISION
Are you a parent looking to offer your child all the benefits of a dual-language education? You might feel a little
overwhelmed with questions and uncertainties about French-second-language, or FSL, education.
Even if you’ve already made the decision to enrol your child in an FSL program, you might be at a loss as to how
you can help him or her succeed if you don’t speak French yourself. Canadian Parents for French is a parent-run
organization that offers brochures, resources, links for homework help, summer camps and much more.
http://on.cpf.ca/resources/for-parents/
PVNC Three year plan:
 increase student confidence, proficiency and achievement in FSL;
 increase the percentage of students studying FSL until graduation;
 Increase student, educator, parent and community engagement
Each month PVNC will share resources with the school community to support student learning and engagement in
French as a second language. https://www.idello.org/en/about/idello-profiles
