WOLVERINE® INTRODUCES OUTDOOR COLLECTION FOR FALL/WINTER 2013
Rockford, Michigan (January 2013) – Wolverine, the Michigan-based makers of dependably
comfortable performance boots and shoes since 1883, is introducing a new collection of outdoor
footwear for Fall 2013.
“Our core aspiration for the Fall 2013 collection was to create transitional winter boots,” said Yahn
Lebo, Wolverine product line manager. “By designing boots that easily transition from fall to winter
and are comfortable in a range of climates, we’ve created a collection of footwear that can be worn
season after season and offers excellent price value.”
New key styles for Fall 2013 include the Thor and Zia boots, part of the Wolverine Monsta series.
Designed to be an all-around, go-to winter boot, attention to detail in materials and technology is
apparent. The boots feature a waterproof membrane and a waterproof suede leather upper with a
TPU shell for durability and easy-clean up. To keep feet warm, the boots have 400 gram Thinsulate
Insulation plus an Aerotherm insole under forefoot to reduce contact cold. The boot’s aggressive
rubber lug outsole has biting edges for effortless traction on slick winter surfaces. For even more
versatility the boots also have a heel cleat and gaiter loop for snowshoes and gaiers. The Men’s Thor
and Women’s Zia will be available in a variety of colors.
“Wolverine developed a tiered product line structure composed of good, better and best product,”
Lebo reveals. “This allows us to target specific performance levels and price points to reach diverse
outdoor consumer segments.”
Another core product for Fall 2013 is the Serge boot. The Serge is a cross-functional boot for men
and women, ideal for people who often go from indoors to outdoors and back; it has the right
amount of insulation so feet stay warm but not hot with 200 gram thermal insulation and a
waterproof membrane. The Serge’s waterproof leather upper is complemented by a wrapped toe
for durability. The boot’s Wolverine gripper rubber lug outsole has sharp leading edges for traction
and slip resistance.
The collection will be available in fall 2013 at retailers nationwide and wolverine.com. MSRPs for the
complete outdoor collection range from $100 to $300.
