With more than a decade of experience planning, negotiating and implementing custom advertising programs, he is committed to developing effective campaigns including: UnitedHealthcare, Lumber Liquidators, Aspen Dental, REI, and other retail, national and direct response advertisers. Previously, Jason worked for the Eckerd Corporation and Novus Media. He took two years away from media to be a designer for several shows on HGTV and DIY Network. Also, he is on the National Shark Attack Database in Volusia County. He earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. Sheldon Bernstein Lead-Sales Strategy & Enablement Google Sheldon devises and executes learning strategies across Google Partners in North America to dismantle roadblocks, deliver return on investment, grow revenue, and develop confident, convicted, and believing teams that preserve an organization’s Owned and Operated properties in concert with applying Google product diversification. His career in sales and management spans 20 years in Florida, including as the Premium Digital Marketing Manager with Dex Media. Today, Sheldon lives in Long Island, NY with his wife and two sons along with their English Springer Spaniel Osi. GRETCHEN BLOUSE Marketing Media Manager Bealls Florida Department Stores Gretchen Blouse manages all media placement for TV, Radio and Print for Bealls Stores; manages the paper procurement and printer schedule; tracks and forecasts the marketing budget, reporting to the CMO and Finance; and manages the Co-op collection process. She has been with Bealls Stores for 15 years, starting in the Dress Buying office. She has worked in several different departments, gaining a broad knowledge of Bealls and Florida retail. fname.org Dan Briley Group Account Director Novus Media Inc. Responsible for client services, media strategy, strategic marketing analytics, media planning, marketing analysis optimization and local digital strategy and planning for Novus Media, Inc. Dan has previously worked with Family Dollar where he managed strategic national and local media planning and buying, marketing and agency affairs. He has also held previous marketing posts with Lowe’s Home Improvement. Dan has a B.S. in Business Administration from Benedictine University and is married with three boys. KAREN FILIPS Director of Marketing Operations & Media Bealls Florida Department Stores Karen Filips started her career with Bealls, first working in the stores as a sales associate while attending college full-time. She worked her way up into store management and eventually transferred into the Marketing Department at the company headquarters in Bradenton. Karen’s team oversees all print production, media placement for TV, Radio and Print; special event promotions; graphics; in-store signage; and in-house pre-media. Her 28-year tenure with Bealls was key in helping plan the companies 100 year anniversary celebration this year. Jim Hart Partner Integrated Advertising Solutions Jim works with newspapers of all sizes to improve the revenue and profits of both print and digital. He specializes in using targeted print products to dominate the small to medium business sector. More than 100 newspapers are now participating in his Dominate Local Now program that helps newspapers attract and retain more local advertising. Jim focuses on prosperity through powerful, efficient use of all media. Jim played a role in the launch of 26 newspaper TMC, EMC or opt-in programs and has helped well over a hundred more with strategic positioning and revenue growth. 2015 FNAME ANNUAL CONFERENCE OCTOBER 1-2, 2015 Speakers Susan Jacobs Vice President/General Manager MediaWorks MediaWorks is an industry leader in Publisher media. Through analysis of first-party data, Jacobs oversees the implementation of MediaWorks’ unique, process-based methodology, which serves to optimize media campaigns and provide measurable results. Through a landmark Publisher Consortium organized by Jacobs, MediaWorks partners with publishers in the top 30+ DMAs to align the advertiser’s message with previously inaccessible Publisher data. Prior to launching MediaWorks, Jacobs served for two years as vice president of national sales and sales strategy for Chicago Tribune Media Group where she directed a sales team that created over $200 million in multi-channel media solutions for national advertisers. In addition to her national sales responsibilities, Jacobs oversaw strategy, training, communication and marketing for the entire sales department. Since beginning her career with the group in 1996, she has held a range of sales and sales management positions spanning various categories of business. Jacobs is a graduate of Miami University where she earned a bachelor’s in Marketing. Jacobs serves as a board member for Family Focus, the McCormick Foundation and the Chicago Advertising Federation. She is a member of the Newspaper Association of America, Newspaper Target Marketing Coalition, International Newsmedia Marketing Association and the Global Retail Marketing Association. Michael Smith Director of Customer Success Centro Michael is Director of Customer Success with Centro Media where he helps media companies provide efficient and effective solutions for their advertisers through sales training/programmatic strategies. Prior to becoming director, Michael served as national sales manager at a cloud-based CRM/lead generation solutions company. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin. Along with his wife, Michael enjoys all things sports, music and food … and, of course, digital advertising. Marlene M. Squires-Swanson Director of Global Advertising VISIT FLORIDA Along with many duties, Marlene’s responsibilities include year-round domestic and international advertising media campaigns, co-op/program integration with airlines, OTAs and destinations. Her experience in marketing, advertising, retail and media is extensive, working for media companies such as ADVO Direct Mail, Gannett, Journal Communications and Quad/Graphics. At the creative agency ABD Group, Chicago, Marlene developed the creative strategy for Sears’ Automotive. As Vice President at NSA Media, Marlene managed media planning and bought for blue chip businesses such as AT&T, AT& T Wireless, AT&T Broadband and Business Services as well as JC Penney, Western Auto (Sears’ Automotive Group) and Amazon. Stephanie Stanton Managing Partner BlueSoho Stephanie is an expert in driving consumers in-store through highly targeted, strategically-placed promotional advertising. She is responsible for leading BlueSoho’s Media Team. Her passion is to create intensely connected, relevant and measurable personal brand experiences, bridging offline and online marketing. Stephanie understands consumers do not define media channels, but they do choose how to interact with brands. Prior to BlueSoho, Stephanie was an executive at Vertis Communications, a data-driven marketing communications company that delivered inventive advertising, direct marketing and interactive solutions. Faced with industry-wide, disruptive adversity and media challenges that are inherent with web, social media and mobile products, Stephanie learned the importance of effective communication and strategic listening. As a result, she was able to advance her team in an industry full of change. Stephanie’s drive, passion for success and sense of humor are the pillars of her personal and career development. She is an active board member of Alliances of Audit Media and was named a recipient of Who’s Who in America. Stephanie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising and Marketing from Quinnipiac University.
