Outdoor Recreation
There are so many great recreational opportunities for
the whole family in Sun Prairie. With over 30 parks
spanning 425 acres, savor some time outside all year
round by attending concerts, ice skating, enjoying
festivals and much more!
In recent years, emphasis on bicycling continues, not
only for recreation but as a form of transportation. Sun
Prairie has embraced this by connecting the Westside
Development with the City of Madison Trail and
has created a bicycle route map available at www.
cityofsunprairie.com/301/Bike-Routes-Paths-Trails.
Patrick Marsh (#8) is another great recreation opportunity for the whole family. Surrounding Brazee Lake,
the area is complete with over 18 acres of prairie and
in 2015 several new visitor features were installed: a
wildlife viewing platform, informational signs, upgraded trails and additional access to Sun Prairie neighborhoods. Be sure to visit in late spring to see the pelicans!
Looking for ways to exercise Fido? Sun Prairie has an
eleven-acre Pet Exercise Area (#9). This area has well
established walking paths with plenty of room for your
pet to run and get the exercise he wants. Passes for the
Pet Exercise area required.
Additional unique outside venues include, the Sun
Prairie Skate Park (#14), Fireman’s Park (#15) complete
with an extensive playground, Sun Prairie Family
Aquatic Center (#11) and so many others. For more

Madison, US Highway 151 has four interchanges to

PAVILION & SPEEDWAY
The newly renovated Angell Park Pavilion features 6,000
square feet of dining and reception space on a beautiful
new maple wood floor that comfortably seats 400 guests
in a temperature controlled environment. The new bar,
constructed from the old 1920 dance floor, and kitchenette
add modern features, while the string lighting, large open
rafters and tin covered walls set the scene as a rustic barn

Exciting progress is happening in our downtown
revitalization efforts. Most visible is the Cannery Square
project on Market and Main Streets. The project includes

HIGH SCHOOL
Sun Prairie High School serves 1500 student in grades
10-12. The school opened in 2010 and is one of the most
state-of-the-art high schools in Wisconsin. The indoor pool
is one of the premiere indoor aquatic facilities in the state
with digital pace clocks, electronic timing system, plenty
of deck & bleacher space, premium starting blocks and
eight regulation 25-yard lanes (7 feet wide). It is also a
great addition for residents to use. Additional facilities are
available to rent include tennis courts, football field, several

SHOPPING AREA
The Prairie Lakes Shopping Area has brought us several
new restaurants, unique shopping opportunities, recreation,
housing and health care options. The Marcus Palace Cinema
and Cabela’s both opened in 2015 and have become key
destinations to this area. The Marcus Palace Cinema is a
12-screen 100,000-square-foot Marcus Theatres complex
that includes an UltraScreen DLX theater with a 64-footwide, three-story-high screen, four Big Screen Bistro
auditoriums, a Zaffiro’s Express and a Take Five Lounge.
Cabela’s is an 86,000-square-foot store that features
hunting, fishing and other outdoor gear and clothing and is
the fourth Wisconsin store for the retailer.

PERFORMING
ARTS CENTER
The Sun Prairie Performing Arts Center opened in August
of 2010, as part of the new Sun Prairie High School. The
Performing Arts Center seats a total of 1,044 patrons: 792
on the main floor, plus 252 in the balcony. The 2,400 square
foot stage features a 23-line fly system with a full loft,
orchestra pit with cover, and trap door. For music concerts,
the Performing Arts Center has a custom-made Wenger Diva

The Sun Prairie Ice Arena, located directly north of Sun
Prairie High School, is a new state-of-the-art, communitydriven facility housing a pair of NHL-sized skating rinks for

for Learn to Skate, Youth Hockey, Adult Hockey, Figure
