Strategy
MFL GROUP has historically invested in two ways of diversification:
PRODUCT „ machinery for wire drawing, stranding and insulation
TECHNOLOGY „ ferrous and non-ferrous materials
Machines are designed and produced by two main Original Equipment
Manufacturers (OEMs): Mario Frigerio S.p.A. (Lecco) and Fridea S.r.l. (Ascoli
Piceno). Each OEMs has developed in-house specialized know-how through
intense and focused research & development activities in order to comply with
the strategy and to react to the rapidly changing market demand.

Structure
Throughout the years, it has become clear that there are advantageous synergies easily identifiable in the value chain of MFL GROUP. Manufacturing, logistics, procurement, after sales service,
administration and marketing are all high synergy activities that create value when managed in
centralized way. On the contrary, the sales department and the mechanical design department
must operate separately and must be managed independently as the required technical knowhow is highly specialized for each product line and technology. This is how MFL GROUP maintains
its competitive advantage and keeps an efficient and flexible corporate structure.

The table shows that there are 6 different R&D units. Each one is specialized and dedicated to one
type of finished product and technology. On the other hand, the sales departments are organized
only according to the type of technology and therefore there are only two sales teams, one for
Mario Frigerio and one for Frigeco. This structure is in line with the strategy of MFL GROUP, which is
to position itself as the world market leader in the design and manufacturing of wire drawing, stranding and insulation lines serving both markets, ferrous and non-ferrous. Every salesman has vast
market knowledge and when working in tandem with the corresponding mechanical design unit,
they are able to develop the perfect product line that meets the specific customer requirements.
