MITTEN GIFT TREE FOR THE SEA COAST MISSION IN MAINE SUNDAY, DECEMBER 9 This year we will collect gloves and mittens which will be sent to the Sea Coast Mission in Bar Harbor, Maine. The gloves and mittens will be collected on December 9 so they can be mailed to Maine in time for Christmas. Thank you for your continued support for our many outreach programs. If you wish to be part of this program contact Esta Brewbaker. See you at the meeting! Cookbooks make Great Christmas gifts Just a reminder that the Women’s Guild still has cookbooks for sale. The books are $9 each. If you pay by check it should be made out to St. Matthew’s Women’s Guild. The books are in the back of the sanctuary. Pick up several for Christmas. COLLECTING FOR RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE We are collecting magazines as well as tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. They prefer magazines with glossy pages. PAGE 3 SENIOR SESSION MONDAY, DECEMBER 17 MEADOWBROOK GOURDS 9:30 A.M. meet at ST. MATTHEW’S We will meet with our friends from Incarnation U.C.C. Newport and travel to Meadowbrook Gourds near Newville. We will be given a tour of the facilities and have the opportunity to make our own bird house gourd. The cost is $10 per person for the gourd. We must have at least 15 people signed up to take the tour. Please sign up in the narthex and pay the $10 to Mary Justh. HANGING OF THE GREENS & SPECIAL GUEST Sunday, December 2 6 p.m. We will have our Hanging of the Greens service in the sanctuary beginning at 6 p.m. Following the service we will meet a special visitor in Fellowship Hall. Parents are asked to provide a gift for their children so the visitor can hand out the presents to all the youth. Refreshments will also be available. Our December Consistory Meeting is an open meeting and any interested members are invited to attend. Our new Consistory members will also be in attendance. V O LU M E 1 2 ISSU E 12 YOUTH GROUP CHRISTMAS PARTY SUNDAY, DECEMBER 9 10:30 TIL 12 All participants are asked to purchase a gift for $5. We will give prizes for the funniest and strangest gifts. Be sure to wrap them so no one knows what the gift is. We will have some fun games to assist with the gift giving and will have hotdogs, chips, and soda for lunch. Sign up in the narthex to participate in this fun event. Bring a friend! YOUTH DONATE $1,000 TO THE PAVILION FUND! We thank the youth for their donation to the pavilion fund. They realize the importance of looking to the future as we continue to grow through God’s grace. PAVILION UPDATE Construction has begun on the pavilion. Currently the walls have been completed for the three storage units. The roof will be completed shortly. We are going to wait until spring to pour the concrete floor. We also took the show on the road and performed at Harrisburg and Newport. Thanks to everyone who participated and helped make the food. We raised over $600 for our mission trip to maine in 2008.
