Thank You Sponsors!!! Over the last year, I have been fortunate enough to have the privilege to drive a champion line-up of Dodge Trucks. This would not have been possible without the kindness of Dean Parker from Fremont Motors in Rock Springs. Dean made all my dreams come true and kept me in style in my Dodge Trucks! But it was much more than that. Dean demonstrated a true giving spirit and enjoyed seeing the smile on my face each time I traded trucks. He is the perfect example of generosity and I owe him a heartfelt thank you! Thanks to Dean Parker, I am proud to be a Dodge Girl! Travel in my Dodge trucks was made possible by the support of Nelson Engineering, who became my fuel sponsor. This generous gift became a reality due to the hard work of Holly Pratt, the Project Manager for Nelson Engineering out of the Jackson Office. The staff of Nelson Engineering is wonderful to work with and I am forever grateful for their unwavering support. The fuel card allowed me to explore the beauty of Wyoming and reminded me of the generosity of its people! Erin Heffron—MRW 2010 Welcome Miss Rodeo Wyoming Contestants! I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of the contestants for Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2011! You are getting ready to embark on an experience that will last a lifetime! I am excited to spend this fun-filled week with you and I encourage you all to embrace each aspect of the competition as character building blocks that will influence you for the rest of your life! Even if you don’t walk away with the jade crown on top of your hat, I hope that each of you walk away as better women for having competed for this prestigious title. Although there can only be one winner, you all have come here to represent yourself, your county or rodeo and your state, which is something to be proud of! Throughout the pageant, you will be put into situations that will help you grow as a person. Sometimes you may be under stress, but I encourage you to always remember where you’ve come from and where you would like to go. This may be as simple as taking a deep breath before giving your speech or taking a moment to picture a friendly face before executing your horsemanship pattern. It takes an entire community to stand behind a rodeo queen so it’s important to remember the roots of what you represent and the people who have helped you along the way! We will be spending the week in a community room with bunk beds. It will be a great time to make memories and get to know each other. It is an exciting yet grueling week. Be sure to take time for yourself and take advantage of the free time to nap and recharge for the next event. I also recommend organizing your living space and keeping it clean so you wont be scrambling at the last minute. Be sure to have a partner that can look out for you and help you if you are running late, knowing that you would do the same for them. The great thing about rodeo queening is that everyone is willing to help one another, just like cowboys on the range. Give yourselves credit for coming this far! Take pride in what you represent, and don’t be afraid to be yourself. Encourage one another and enjoy every minute! I look forward to spending this incredible week with each of you!! Best of luck, Erin "Code of the West" Luncheon Scholarship Fund Auction Join us for the speeches and modeling portion of the Miss Rodeo Wyoming Pageant on Thursday, August 19th at the Best Western Douglas Inn & Conference Center. NEXT MEETING Thursday—August 19th—7:30pm Wyoming State Fair Office Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2010—Erin Heffron Official Website: www.MissRodeoWyoming.com E-NEWSLETTER Member News Recently my husband Aaron and I ventured away from our hometowns for the first time and moved to Leavenworth, WA, where my husband accepted a wonderful career promotion with the Forest Service, as an Assistant Fire Management Officer. I was offered and accepted a position on the Biological crew with the Forest Service in Chelan, WA, which is only a short commute (about an hour and half one way) from Leavenworth. We are looking to purchase a house in the Columbia River Valley to split our commutes. Only having a month under our belt we can honestly say we love it here so far, except for the giant mosquitoes! It is sad to admit but this will be my first time EVER not attending the Wyoming State Fair. I wish all of the contestants the best of luck. Love, Stacie Kline-Thompson I don't want to write this note, but we are not going to be able to make it to the pageant after all. My new defibrillator does not want to play nice and I have to go back into the hospital next week for more surgery. (Does it ever end?) This time I am going to mind and take it easy! I was soooooo excited to come (to the pageant), even just put new tires on my car, and Pammy Sue's hair grew out some. We'll be anxiously awaiting results. Love to all, Suzanne & Pammy Sue (the dog) This publication is available to be delivered electronically to your inbox. Contact Julie Pederson.
