1. ARRIVE ZURICH AND ON TO LUCERNE
Tour begins: 4:00 PM, Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern. A
transfer is included from Zurich International Airport to Hotel
Schweizerhof Luzern, nestled in the Alps. Meet your Tauck
Director and your fellow adventurers at your grand hotel in the
Old Quarter for a walking tour of Lucerne’s cobblestone streets
and colorful medieval architecture. Tonight, we’ll get together
again for a welcome reception and dinner in the hotel. Meals D
2. A CABLE CAR CLIMB & MT. PILATUS’ SLOPES
Take a look at Lucerne’s Lion Monument, dedicated to the
Swiss Guards who lost their lives in the French Revolution, en
route to your cable car ride to the top of Mount Pilatus – nearly
7,000 feet! – surrounded by more than 70 Alpine peaks and
five lakes, before descending to Fraekmuentegg for a choice
of wintertime activities including sledding*, toboggan rides*,
airboarding* and snowbiking*. Take a gondola down the
mountain to Kriens for a short drive to Lucerne, where your

3. A LAKE CRUISE & THE GLACIER EXPRESS
Poets love to write about the beautiful scenery of Lake Lucerne;
you’ll see why on this morning’s cruise across the lake to
Stansstad. Once ashore, drive to Andermatt to board the famous
Glacier Express for more jaw-dropping views as the train winds its
way through spectacular Alpine passes past lakes, forests, and
mountain villages. Your destination today is St. Moritz, one of the
most glamorous ski resorts in the world. Dine à la carte at leisure
tonight in your elegant hotel, at the foot of the Alps. Meals BLD
4. ENGADINE VALLEY: SKIS & COMPETITIONS
Outdoor enchantment continues in the snow-covered Swiss
mountains today where head-turning views combine with
ski-clad feet to make your day one you’ll fondly remember.
Downhill and cross-country skiers will join their expert ski
instructors on runs and trails in the winter wonderland. Those
opting for snowshoe hiking will explore with like-minded
enthusiasts. All equipment and lift tickets are included for Tauck
Bridges families. Alpine horn blowers will welcome everyone
back together for lunch at the top of the mountain, followed
by some friendly competitive games for all. They include a five
person ski competition*, crossbow shooting*, a snowball contest*,
and airboard gliding*. Return to your hotel after an afternoon

5. A HABSBURG EMPEROR & HIS WIVES
Follow the Inn River today to the university town of Innsbruck,
Austria, and discover the labyrinthine heart of Old Town. History
comes alive, literally, when, on a walking tour, you meet up with
some old timers, such as the 15th-century German Emperor
Maximilian I and his two lovely wives. The locals continue to
make your day exciting on a visit to the world-class Bergisel Ski
Jump and sports facility, designed by the renowned architect
Zaha Hadid. Austrian delights are on the menu this evening at a
traditional mountain “hut” where local Tyrolean food, music, and

6. ICE CLIMBING IN ÖTZTAL VALLEY
Recommended age: 8+. Children must be 8 or older to participate in activities

Visions of the popular Disney movie Frozen come to mind
today as you venture outside in the icy wilderness for a choice
of activities. Bundle up for a walk to the frozen waterfall in the
village of Längenfeld where an ice climbing instructor will show
you the ropes and special equipment needed for this wintertime
sport. Learn expert tips and basic ice climbing techniques as
you try your hand at scaling the frigid terrain. As an alternative
option, join us for a guided winter walk to the village of Burgstein
crossing over a spectacular suspension bridge for breathtaking
views. The entire group meets up for a cable car ride up to the
Gaislachkogl Peak where lunch is served at the state-of-the-art
gourmet restaurant, Ice Q. Ride a cable car back down to the
