Fans witnessed something very special at Oaklawn in
2015 when American Pharoah launched his successful
Triple Crown bid with victories in the Rebel Stakes
and Arkansas Derby. Hoping to once again bring
the best horses and horsemen in the country to Hot
Springs, Oaklawn will offer record purses in 2016 for
the eighth consecutive year thanks in part to the
success of Instant Racing and electronic wagering.

The proven path to the Triple Crown runs through
Arkansas and the emphasis will once again be on
aspiring 3-year-olds, who will have four stakes, $2.5
million in purses and 286 points to compete for
as they make their way to Churchill Downs for the
Kentucky Derby and the first step of the Triple Crown.
