Pin Oak Stud, LLC – March 4, 2016 RACE RESULTS STALLION NEWS WEEKEND WATCH APHRODITE’S QUEST TAMPA – She finished 5th in a maiden special on Saturday. She lay in back of the field like in her first start, made a big move down the lane, but couldn’t sustain the run. She seems to have come out of it in good shape. Trainer Malcolm Pierce will be heading back in the direction of Woodbine in about 30 days, so we will have to see if a similar maiden will get to go there. We will just have to wait to see where her future lies. BROODMARE NEWS th OAKLAWN – She finished 6 after another troubled trip. She broke from the one hole, was checked down the backside, sat in behind horses with no where to run in the turn. She appears to come out of the race in good shape and will get one more start at Oaklawn before coming home to the farm to be bred. Donnie Von Hemel may have a rider change for her next start. ($125,000) Awesome Again ~ NEW FOALS ~ SATURDAY – He makes his 2016 debut after a long lay off tomorrow afternoon at Oaklawn for Donnie Von Hemel. It’s a very competitive allowance race, so it will be a good indicator what the next steps will be for him. However, he has trained well and deserves the opportunity. Up and Over TELL ALL MAR 10 – Looking for an allowance, going 1 1/16 mi. at Oaklawn for Donnie Von Hemel. She’s been training well since her last start where she found trouble down the lane, but hopefully she can improve from that effort. TRAINERS’ NEWS GRAHAM MOTION At Palm Meadows -- CONSCRIPTION has settled in nicely and is on a regular breezing schedule. IF YOU SAY SO had a nice breeze in the past week on the turf and will be looking for a maiden race at Tampa in the near future. BROWNIE POINTS had a very nice filly (above) by Candy Ride on Feb. 26th and the mare will visit More Than Ready at WinStar Farm. Clifford’s daughter, Emily, competed in the Ballyhigh Winter Schooling Jumper Show on February 28 at the Ballyhigh Show Stable in Woodford County. Emily placed 3rd and 4th in her classes while aboard Harmony, her trusted jumper for the event. With the weather being sunny and nice a number of the classes were moved outdoors. Emily said there was a pretty good turn out for the show which made her a little nervous, but she performed like a champ! MALCOLM PIERCE At Palm Meadows -- WHIMSICALITY breezed a half mile on the grass this week and did that nicely. We’re looking forward to heading her to Woodbine. APHRODITE’S QUEST seems to come out of her race in good shape. MIKE STIDHAM At Fair Grounds -- VIEW FROM THE TOP is back training and is doing well. There may be a race for her on March 26, going 1 1/16 on the turf. EQUILIBRATE (above) also foaled on Feb. 26 a colt by Mizzen Mast and this mare will be rested. She has been a good producer and deserves some easy time in retirement. DONNIE VON HEMEL At Oaklawn -- FICTIONALITY returned from her race in good shape. MOVING AWAY is looking for a maiden race. She’s been entered a couple of times already with no luck of races going. POSEIDON’S WAY is in on Saturday. READY TO CONFESS came out of her last race in good shape and Donnie has eased off serious training a little bit to give her a chance to mature. We probably won’t see her start again until the Keeneland meet, which is just around the corner. SYNCHRONY is doing very well – training very well. He came out of his last race in good shape. Donnie feels that this colt is just not in love with the Oaklawn surface. So, he is waiting for the Keeneland meet, possibly returning to an allowance race there or the G3 Lexington S. in the middle of the meet. TELL ALL continues to train well and looks to run next week. HOLLY HILL TRAINING CENTER All the 2yos are doing well - galloping this week and scheduled to breeze next Tuesday. EVERY MOMENT is jogging and doing well. DON’T LEAVE ME had a nice 3/8’s breeze and is coming along nicely. She will join the Malcolm Pierce barn somewhere the latter part of this month. YOU’RE WELCOME is having some easy time on vacation – just jogging at the present. Pin Oak employees interested in going to the Museum for this fantastic exhibit of the work of the late great equine photographer Tony Leonard can inquire at the farm office about obtaining a free admission. WHISPER TO ME had a very good War Front colt on March 2 and she will visit Bernardini at Darley. ~ MARES BRED ~ ATTAINMENT (to Munnings), DANKA (Alternation), GOLD MEDAL DANCER (War Front), OVERHEARD (Street Sense), REALLY AND TRULY (More Than Ready). “Sealing the Track at Keeneland” is one of many pics owned by The Tony Leonard Collection LLC created by John Adger, Bobby Shiflet and David Sorrell. You can see this photo and many more at the Headley-Whitney Museum exhibit starting this month to mid June. It will be an amazing event.
