玉豬龍, s 玉猪龙 is a type of jade artifact from neolithic China. Pig dragons are
zoomorphic forms with a pig-like head and elongated limbless body coiled around to the head and described as "suggestively
fetal." Early pig dragons are thick and stubby, and later examples have more graceful, snakelike bodies. Pig dragons were
produced by the Hongshan culture. Along with the same culture's jade eagles (玉鷹), they often featured as
grave goods. Pig bones have been found interred alongside humans at Hongshan burial sites, suggesting that the animal had
some ritual significance. There is some speculation that the pig dragon is the first representation of the Chinese dragon. The

depiction of Siyyid 'Ali-Muhammad taking the throne for the house of Báb and uniting the people of the city of Shiraz showing
them with plenty of livestock and wealth. The taking of the throne in Shiraz put an end to the Qajar dynasty. Shiraz is the
birthplace of the co-founder of the Bahá'í Faith, the Báb (Siyyid 'Ali-Muhammad, 1819–1850). In this city, on the evening of 22
May 1844, he first declared his mission as the bearer of a new divine revelation. For this reason Shiraz is a holy city for Bahá’ís,
and the city, particularly the house of the Báb, was identified as a place of pilgrimage. Due to the hostile climate towards Baha'is
in Iran, the house has been the target of repeated attacks; the house was destroyed in 1979, to be paved over two years later
and made into a public square. A once in a lifetime opportunity to own a true royal treasure of the region. There are several

USD 2,500 - 3,000
Tibet, early 20th century. A fine wooden Cham dance mask and hands. Masks like this one were used in monastic dances to
illustrate Buddhist parables. This masks depicts a dragon with bared teeth, bulbous eyes, and wagging ears. The wood is
chipped and worn in places, showing use, and retains some of the original red, black, white, and yellow paint. The eyes are
crowned with fierce red eyebrows, and a white Chinese character graces the dragon’s large red snout. Another large Chinese
character is painted in a yellow-gold color on a red projection between the dragon’s eyes. This is typically where a third eye
would go. A black stylized diadem crowns the dragon’s head, and there are ear holes on both sides, with one ear still in place.
The existing ear is beautifully formed with remnants of the original red paint still in place. The ear fits into the hole in a way that
allows it to wag up and down. Various other holes are scattered across the mask, presumably to aid in the wearer’s vision and
breathing. There is a small wooden plank across the bottom of the mask, nailed in place on one side and fastened with string on
the other. Matching hands depict two dragons, also in black and red, with bared teeth, large snout, and bulbous eyes. Each
hand bears a stylized black diadem, with impression for the third eye in the center of the forehead. Both have handles on the
back side, beautifully worn from frequent use. They are strung through the top for display purposes. Masks like these that have
survived a long time are considered special and spiritually powerful. Mask measures approximately 18” across, 15” tall, 11”
deep. Hands measure approximately 7-1/2” tall, 6-1/2” wide, 4” deep. The starting price is the lowest price at which the lot can
