It protects your house, business or project, ensuring COMFORT any time of the year. ➜ ➜ ➜ ➜ ➜ ➜ ➜ Benefits 100% closed cell polyethylene structure Waterproof Fungi-resistant Vapor barrier 20 – 30 kg/m2 density 0.03 emittance Foam value **LAMBDA: 0.032 w/mk Saves energy through air conditioning Protects your building from hot weather Keeps internal temperature comfortable in cold areas Prevents growth of fungi or bacteria Causes no allergies Waterproof, hygienic, and resistant to agrochemicals, acids, bases, coatings, and detergents ➜ High quality finishing touches ➜ Lightweight, easy to use and easy to install ➜ Toxic gas free ➜*CFC free. It protects the ozone layer ➜ ➜ ➜ ➜ ➜ ➜ *CFC (chlorofluorocarbon): This substance diffuses into the stratosphere to be dissociated by UV radiation, releasing chlorine from the composition and starting to destroy the ozone layer. Today, evidence shows that the discovery of the Antarctic ozone hole in the southern spring is related to CFC photochemistry. **LAMBDA: This thermal conductivity coefficient determines the amount or flow of heat traveling through a sample surface unit. Roof insulation solution Prodex AP3 Aluminum + Polyethylene BENEFITS DESCRIPTION 3mm thick closed cell polyethylene foam laminated in pure aluminum on one side and white polyethylene film on the other. ➜ Excellent finishing touches to facilities with no ceiling or suspended ceiling ➜ Excellent resistance to tearing and high temperaturess 3 mm Installation steps 1 Spread roll Spread Prodex roll to the top of the roof. 2 Fix roll to ridge board Fix roll to structure once on the top of the roof. 3 Align Align insulation in parallel to trusses once fixed on the top of the roof. 4 Stretch roll Stretch roll once ready for proper overlapping with next Prodex sheet. NOTE Our Prodex thermal insulation can be installed on or under the supports of any roof. 5 Fix roll to structure Fix roll to structure on first roof support. Using plates (at least ½ inch wide) and truss head screws is recommended. 6 Overlap rolls sideways Bond every sheet sideways to prevent hot air infiltration. 7 Place roof Place a row of roof panels for every two rows of Prodex insulation to prevent material exposure to air currents that may remove insulation. *”R” THERMAL RESISTANCE VALUES Recommended construction systems Roof panel Thermal resistance values with down heat flow With one Prodex® sheet using two 2.64 inch air chambers 15.67 With two Prodex® sheets using two 2.64 inch air chambers 21.10 PRODEX® Ceiling Thermal resistance values with side heat flow With one Prodex® sheet using two 2.64 inch air chambers 7.0 With two Prodex® sheets using two 2.64 inch air chambers 9.58 Thermal resistance values with up heat flow PRODEX® PRODEX® With one Prodex® sheet using two 2.64 inch air chambers 6.0 With two Prodex® sheets using two 2.64 inch air chambers 8.24 ASTM 1116 Test Method using 2x6 inch wood frame Roof panel Exposed Prodex® Boundary conditions 60°F and 90°F average internal temperature 75°F Emittance 0.03 ASTM 1371-98 *R Factor= Thermal resistance. It is the capacity of the insulating material to oppose heat flow.
