WEEKEND NOTES
• Elizabethtown and Stevenson meet for the first time on the diamond since the Mustangs joined
the Middle Atlantic Conference.
• The Blue Jays went 6-4 on their spring break trip to Clermont, Fla. In their ten games, E-town averaged 5.4 runs per game. Twice they scored more than ten runs.
• Stevenson’s freshman pitcher Molly Hoyt leads the team in batting average (.467) and earned run
average (2.67).
• Sunday’s doubleheader with Widener are make-up games from March 13 due to unplayable field
conditions. The Pride lead the all-time series with the Jays, 24-16. However, in 2012, E-town swept
their only two meetings of the season at Chester, Pa. In a game one victory, Elly McCarthy led the
way, going 4-for-4 at the plate with six RBIs. Elizabethtown won in six innings, 11-3. Lindsey Cooper
paced the Jays in the second game, a 10-6 win. Cooper went 4-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs
scored.
• The Pride’s Shelby Mackintosh leads the team in most major hitting categories; batting average
(.600), doubles (5), hits (15), and runs batted in (10). Pitcher Christine Mattis boasts a sub-2.00 ERA,
as it stands at 1.65 going into the weekend. She has 14 strikeouts on the year in 17 innings pitched.
• Keli Krause, a freshman from Schwenksville, Pa., is E-town’s top pitcher in 2013. She is 4-2 with a
2.90 ERA and 48 punch-outs in 38.2 innings pitched. The Christopher Dock product has four complete games under her belt thus far, with one shutout. Opponents are hitting just .238 of the freshman hurler.
• Elizabethtown will host Ursinus on Monday, March 25, beginning at 3 p.m. They end the month of
March with a doubleheader at Albright on Thursday, March 28. The doubleheader starts at 2:30 p.m.
