After some major developments over the past six months, GSI is proud to present the
best collection of rider-friendly performance surfboards on the planet.
NSP is the largest single surfboard brand in the world—with very good
reason. NSP has given beginners and intermediate surfers the opportunity to
buy great-value boards that are also good performers. This year the range
will continue to grow with the addition of a number of top-secret—exciting—
new developments.
Our 7S range of shortboards really took off last year with the launch of the
‘Super Fish’. This year, we’ve added a little extra width to the range. And to
tempt some of you longboarders back into the shortboard set, we’re also
offering 6’8” and 7’3” versions. Very soon we’ll be launching “The Dart”—a
cross between our step-decked Super Fish and a traditional shortboard. As
well as having plenty of volume, The Dart is a hot performer. Available with
old-school tinted glass jobs, these 7S shortboards are very hard to beat.
As well as six signature models (6’6” to 9’1”) from Carl Shaper and Bonga
Perkins, this year’s stronger, lighter South Point range includes three
performance shapes from Kym Thompson. This range provides a highlypolished, high-performance bridge between entry-level and advanced
epoxy boards.
If you’re crazy about colour, there are plenty to choose from in this range.
Nose rocker has been reduced in both the Funboards and Mini LBs to better
suit riders who haven’t been surfing long, but are no longer beginners.
A broad range of sizes ensures there is a true Blue Blue for everyone.
Steve Walden is the well known designer of one of the most popular
longboard ranges in the US. His ‘Magic Model” series is wild, to say the least.
As well as looking great, these boards surf beautifully. With splash-check
floral inlays on the deck, there is nothing like them on the market.
Two classic tint jobs have been added to this awesome range. The versatile
outline used to create these boards performs beautifully in a wide variety
of conditions. For those of you with an eye for an investment, they are great
value-for-money as well.
Greg Webber’s passion for design and high performance surfboards has
guaranteed his status as one of the world’s highest profile surfboard
designers. Our 2006 Webber range continues to focus on high
performance surfing—regardless of the conditions.
Now also available in an 8’ version, these boards perform so well for
beginners that, after a couple of surfs, they’re already thinking about turning
pro! Regardless of your professional aspirations , if you really want to learn

C SCHAPER
Outside his native Hawaii, Carl Schaper is best known
for his work with “Bonga” Perkins on highperformance longboards. Their decade-old
relationship climaxed recently when Bonga won the
world longboard championship riding Carl’s designs.
Carl and Bonga have collaborated on numerous
surfboard design projects over the years, their latest
being the dynamic new South Point Time Bomb series.

SUPER FISH
The step-deck Super Fish is a proven winner. Its
mammoth volume gives you all the buoyancy you need
to catch more waves than anyone else. The extra float
means you can ride a Super Fish that’s six inches
shorter than your normal shortboard. On the bottom,
a full-length concave splits into double concaves
in the tail. This bottom design delivers plenty of speed,
especially in combination with the board’s very flat
rocker. If you’re a longboarder looking to lose some
length, make sure you test-ride the Super Fish XL
model—it really is a great way to catch just as
many waves.

The “CD” is the smallest board in the Magic Series. And
the shortest route to hanging five. It has the same nose
and tail as the Walden longboards—it’s just that the
distance between them has been reduced. The CD is a lot
of fun—in all sorts of surf—for all sorts of surfers.

A scaled-down version of our popular Magic Model, the
Mini Magic performs as well in slow surf as it does in
speedy beach breaks. While shorter than its longer
brother, the Mini Magic is every bit as fast out of turns. It
also has a more forgiving nature. Being excellent

sophisticated longboards ever designed. So sophisticated, in
fact, it has become the modern longboard prototype. Tested

With less nose rocker and more tail rocker than most
boards, the Webber is a quick pick-up, hyper responsive
surfboard which—thanks again to the rocker design—is
also very forgiving. The complementary bottom and
outline curves combine to support the greatest range of
possible foot positions … centred for carving … on the
tail for tight snaps … or way forward for airs.
This semi-fish is just wide enough and thick enough to
increase glide and paddling speed without surfing flat like
a standard fish. With a little less rocker and slightly more
thickness and width, the Afterburner provides the “on rail”
drive required for better speed and manoeuvrability. A
slight single concave under the front foot, alongside the
softer forward rail, delivers lift, speed and total
forgiveness. A deeper double concave through the tail
ensures the Afterburner has more range than any
standard fish.
A chunky version of the Afterburner with a little less
rocker throughout. A single-to-double-concave bottom
that is more sculpted than in the Afterburner to
counteract the extra thickness and provide better
tracking on the face of the wave. This small-wave board
provides plenty of low-speed glide as well high-speed
hold. The result is a fish that performs beautifully on a
much wider range of waves than you would expect.
Being round, the CD’s outline is pretty easy to draw, but
it’s hard to pigeon-hole its performance. If you buy a
smaller one, you will find it is a great performer—both
in small waves, and as an airboard. On the other hand,
the longer CDs make great beginners’ boards. They are
also terrific board for older, bigger, more experienced
guys. Whatever stage you’ve reached in your
development as a surfer, you will be hard pressed
finding a better board for carving driving turns.
