ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION 2016 ARE YOU IN YEAR 10 OR 11 ? WIN A SCHOLARSHIP TO THE YOUNG LEADERS PROGRAM AT TRINITY COLLEGE, THE UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE. Held each year in July and December, the Young Leaders Program provides an exciting opportunity to experience a hands-on taste of university life in Australia and meet other young people from all around the world. Five full scholarships and a number of partial scholarships to be won! To enter, submit an original 500 word essay in English on the following topic: Choose a significant historical event in the last 60 years and explain why, in your opinion, it was important. The event can be a political event, the development of an idea, discovery or invention, a moment that expressed a change in society, or a natural event. It may be either national or global, and either a single moment or an event which took place over a period of time. Most importantly, the essay must express your own ideas in your own words, and not be copied directly from any source such as the Internet. Entries close Sunday 18 September 2016. Entry is free and open to Indonesian residents only who are enrolled in a Year 10/ SMA 1 or Year 11/ SMA 2 during the competition period. Students holding Australian citizenships or permanent residence are not eligible for entry to this competition. 3. All entries must include a completed entry form. Each file size should be no more than 3Mb and in .pdf or .doc format. 4. The essay must be your own work, completed without substantial assistance, and in your own words with no parts copied from the internet or other sources. 5. Each full scholarship is worth AUD$3,600 and each partial 50% scholarship is worth AUD$1,800. All scholarships are not transferable or redeemable for cash. 6. The scholarship includes all meals, accommodation, airport transfers, tours and activities for the duration of the two weeks program. 7. Personal spending and airfare money are not included in the prize. 8. Winners will be announced and prizes presented at the Essay Writing Competition Award Ceremony 2016 to be held in Jakarta on Saturday 29 October and Surabaya on Sunday 30 October 2016. All entrants wil be sent an electronic invitation to attend. 9.
