Prayer of Blessings for Students
who lead at Trinity
May you have the grace and wisdom
To act kindly, learning
To distinguish between what is
Personal and what is not.
May you be hospitable to criticism.
May you never put yourself at the centre of things.
May you act not from arrogance but out of service.
May you work on yourself,
Building up and refining the ways of your mind.
May those who work alongside you know
You see and respect them.
May you learn to cultivate the art of presence
In order to engage with those who meet you.
When someone fails or disappoints you,
May the graciousness with which you engage
Be their stairway to renewal and refinement.
May you treasure the gifts of the mind
Through reading and creative thinking
So that you continue as a servant of the frontier
Where the new will draw its enrichment from the old
And you never become a functionary.
May you know the wisdom of deep listening,
The healing of wholesome words,
The encouragement of the appreciative gaze,
The decorum of held dignity,
The springtime edge of the bleak question.
May you have a mind that loves frontiers
So that you can evoke the bright fields
That lie beyond the view of the regular eye.
May you have good friends
To mirror your blind spots
May leadership be for you
A true adventure of growth
(Adapted from John O’Donohue, Benedictus: A book of
Blessings, 2007)
Congratulations to students elected to
leadership roles for 2016!

The Year of Mercy Reflection
God’s mercy transforms human hearts; it enables us,
through the experience of a faithful love, to become merciful
in turn. In an ever new miracle, divine mercy shines forth in
our lives, inspiring each of us to love our neighbour and to
devote ourselves to what the Church’s tradition calls the
spiritual and corporal works of mercy. These works remind
us that faith finds expression in concrete everyday actions
meant to help our neighbours in body and spirit: by feeding,
visiting, comforting and instructing them.
MESSAGE OF HIS HOLINESS POPE FRANCIS FOR
LENT 2016:
“I desire mercy, and not sacrifice” (Mt 9:13).

Year 12 Retreat
Congratulations to Year 12 on a marvellous Retreat. Some
thirty staff led Year 12 at our Marist home at Mittagong this
past week. We pray that for Year 12 that this time of grace
continues to bear fruit in your friendships, your prayer life
and throughout Year 12!
We extend our congratulations to Ben Howard in Year 10
on his film’s selection as a finalist in the major international
short film festival Tropfest, held in Sydney at the weekend,
Ben stars in the film that was one of sixteen films to
judged on Sunday night in front of a huge live and
television audience. Ben’s teacher at our Regents Park
Campus, Mr Alex Rowe, produced the film. We are so
proud of Ben and congratulate Mr Rowe on his success.
Please enjoy watching our star, Ben!
Open Afternoon March 9, 2016 –
Auburn Campus
This year we will hold our College Open Afternoon at the
Auburn Campus from 4-7 pm. This is change of venue and
provides all families with the chance to see the Auburn
campus in action. We invite families of current and
prospective students to join us on the afternoon. For those
seeking enrolment for 2017 this provides you with the
chance to visit the campus, meet staff and learn about life at
Trinity, and collect the 2017 Enrolment packs! We look
forward to meeting you!
Congratulations Ben Howard – Tropfest
Finalist!

KLA News - PDHPE
Term 1 this year has begun with a flying start for our Yr. 7
students. Some excited and some apprehensive, our
Benedict and Champagnat students have launched into
the Aquatics Program held at Birrong Leisure Centre. The
program aims for students to develop their aquatic skills,
including safety in and around water, stroke development
and correction and practicing survival skills.
The students have been fantastic! Their behaviour and
approach to this program has been admirable and we
commend them on their outstanding behaviour. We look
forward to the continual participation of all Yr. 7 students
throughout the term and thank all the staff involved with
this program.
