This plan was designed to improve the streetscapes of Towson and to make the area more
pedestrian friendly. The changes include widening the sidewalks, improving the traffic circle,
and making the street and building facades more attractive. Other changes will be adding new
signs, trees for shade, and combining residential, retail, and office buildings in one area to enhance street activity. The goal of this plan is to make Towson a stimulating and safe pedestrian
environment.

The Bicycle Plan will make much needed improvements to bike travel in the
Towson area. Currently many roads around Towson are hazardous to attempt to ride along
with traffic because of a lack of bicycle path lanes. With this proposed plan, there will be many
more designated bicycle lanes, shared use pathways, and signs showing that the roadway is
to be shared. The bicycle plan includes the uptown Towson area and extends down to Towson
University, easing commutes for students bicycling to the university.

Towson University runs several free on-and off-campus shuttle routes for students, faculty,
